TPS connector voltage

I've come a LONG ways with this car. Hopefully this will be my question. On my TPS connector I'm suppose to be getting 5 volts on my voltage signal wire, .9 to 1 volt on my signal wire and .30 ohms on my ground wire. My voltage wire is getting the proper 5 volts. My ground wire is getting the .30 ohms. But my signal wire that's suppose to put out .9 to 1 volt. But it is putting out 4.56 volts. That's about the same as my voltage wire. What would the problem be and what's causing this. HOPEFULLY it's not my computer on the car. Is this something that I need to trace the
Experienced mechanics share their insights in answering this question :
Hi there. Assuming, you are testing the TPS (throttle position sensor) connector while disconnected, the described parameters could be considered normal. Some ECM (engine control module) signal voltages default to near 5vts, sensor open. If you are back-probing the connector while connected to the TPS, this would indicate an open TPS unless the throttle plate is wide open or the signal wire is shorted to the reference wire. Closed throttle, the signal wire voltage is typically between .5-1vt. Measuring the resistance value (ohms) of the TPS itself (disconnected) should be a fixed value between reference and ground, varying resistance between reference and signal, or signal and ground with throttle plate movement. Not knowing year, make, and model makes it difficult to be more specific. I recommend having your vehicle’s check engine light be diagnosed and repaired by a certified technician, such as one from YourMechanic.

How to Identify and Fix Common car Problems ?

Unlike the APP sensor, the TPS sensors usually have a common five-volt supply and a common ground.
At all throttle openings, the sum of the voltage outputs from TPS 1 and TPS 2 should equal 5 Volts. Key on, engine off, used the multi-meter to probe the connector for the throttle actuator control (TAC) 1 and 2. Voltage should be 12 Volts and polarity should reverse when throttle is snapped.
When notified of this error, it is safe to assume that the A sensor is reporting voltage that is too low, likely between 0.17 and 0.20 volts. With this message appearing, it is safe to assume that the sensor will not operate as it should, which means that you will need to either replace it or repair it.
The TPS converts AC power from generators or community power and converts power to 28 VDC power at a variety of amperages (150A, 100A, and 75A models).
Flash Code 22 indicates that the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS), see Figure 22-1, input to the ECM has dropped below 5% (normally < 0.25 volts) of the sensor supply voltage. The SAE J1587 equivalent code for Flash Code 22 is p 091 4, Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) circuit low.
To check your TPS with a multimeter, you`ll want to set your multimeter to DC voltage. Then, connect the red lead to the signal terminal of the TPS and black lead to the ground. Test your TPS when it`s fully closed, when it`s being opened and when it`s completely open.
Possible Causes:

Faulty throttle position sensor or switch. Short circuit in the wiring or connections. Loose or corroded electrical connections.

GM Throttle Position Sensor Connections

GM is consistent with the wiring colors for their TP sensors: Black is always ground, Grey is the 5 Volt reference feed to the sensor, and Blue is the signal output from the sensor.

Reprogramming or resetting your sensor can sometimes solve these issues. This step can also be necessary when you install a new sensor. The easiest way to reset your throttle position sensor is to unhook the negative cable from your battery for up to five minutes or to remove the fuse for your engine control module.
TPS is the Transactions Per Second (transactions/sec) #TR is the number of transactions. T is the total time (seconds)
The TPS is calculated like this: TPS = Number of transactions per block / Block time in seconds.
Ideally each tic should take no more than 50ms to maintain 20 Tics Per Second (TPS). This can go as low as 55.55ms for 18 TPS with minimal issues. Any lower than this and you will begin to see lag.
Common signs include lacking power when accelerating, rough or slow idle, stalling, inability to shift up, and the Check Engine Light coming on.
Most throttle sensors are three-wire. They require a 5V reference, a ground, and then output a 0-5v signal dependant on the position of the sensors shaft in relation to its body..
TPS holders can qualify for permanent immigration pathways. However, someone cannot adjust to permanent status solely because they currently have TPS – they have to qualify for another pathway (family-sponsorship or employer-sponsorship, for example).
A TPS (thermoplastic-sheathed) cable is made of a toughened outer sheath of PVC or polyvinyl chloride thermoplastic, which covers one or more individual annealed copper conductors insulated with PVC.
The USA has their own wiring colors for electrical circuits, black, red, and blue are used for 208 VAC three-phase; brown, orange and yellow are used for 480 VAC.
Quite rarely but surely enough a bad throttle position sensor can create a no-start condition where you may be able to just crank the engine and not turn it over.
Bad throttle position sensors can cause high idle without causing the Check Engine Light to illuminate.
Once you have fitted a Throttle Position Sensor, or TPS, you will need to calibrate it from within MEITE. First, be sure you have correctly wired, and assigned the throttle sensor signal input to “TPS Raw” in the Analog Settings.
The car can run with the TPS or MAF disconnected, but not with both disconnected at the same time. With the TPS disconnected the idle will be irregular and uneven but you can definitely drive it like that. BMW has been building in emergency operating capabilities since the 1980`s.
Usually Transaction Per Second (TPS), which plays an important role in load testing, shows the number of processes completed in one second.

I had my ECS replaceed and my TPS and the code for TPS was gone but the ECS code came on after 5 miles is it possible the new one
ANSWER : There is a possibility the new module is faulty, but there may be something else going on with the car as well. Wiring can be an issue with these vehicle so consider hiring an experienced technician like one from YourMechanic to loo at the car and offer a personal diagnosis. You can have bad knock sensors offering false readings or some faulted wiring.

Recently replaced the TPS but still get code P0122, what causes this low voltage?
ANSWER : Code P0122 may also indicate that you may have loose or poor connectivity to the throttle position sensor itself or potentially not enough voltage being supplied from the ECM. I would recommend having an expert from YourMechanic come to your location to diagnose and repair your throttle position sensor voltage issue.

Loss of voltage at blower motor when it is connected to regulator – regulator is brand new
ANSWER : Hi there. The issue you are having is not the resister, but rather the switch. The switch contacts are shorting out back to the battery causing the a/c blower not to work. I recommend replacing the a/c blower switch. If you need further assistance troubleshooting your vehicle, then seek out a technician, such as one from YourMechanic, that can assist you with replacing the switch.

Failing to maintain proper voltage after replacing the starter the alternator and the battery
ANSWER : It sounds like you may still be having problems with the voltage regulator maintaining the proper voltage. When the voltage regulator is not working properly, this may result in the alternator not supplying enough power to the battery, resulting in undercharging the battery or not charging it at all. In some cases when a battery is too weak or damaged, it may no longer hold a charge for any length of time, in which case the alternator may be doing its job, but the battery is just simply too weak to hold a charge. In either case, I would recommend having an expert from YourMechanic come to your location to diagnose your vehicle’s charging system.

How do I install my new blower motor 2006 Nissan Sentra? The new part came with just wires, how do I install a connector?
ANSWER : You must be using an aftermarket blower motor. You will need to cut off the old connector and using wire splices you will need to connect the wires to your connector. Before making final connection you will need to install the motor and hook up wires and make sure motor is running in the correct direction of blowing air out of vents. Then make final wire connection crimps and tape up wires.
