How do I install my new blower motor 2006 Nissan Sentra? The new part came with just wires, how do I install a connector?

I am trying to replace my blower motor to get my a/c back working. The new blower motor only has 2 wires and no connector to plug into anywhere. The old blower has a built in connector.

How easy is it to put on a new connector so I can finish installation? Can I buy a connector at the auto parts store?

My car has 117777 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Experienced mechanics share their insights in answering this question :
You must be using an aftermarket blower motor. You will need to cut off the old connector and using wire splices you will need to connect the wires to your connector. Before making final connection you will need to install the motor and hook up wires and make sure motor is running in the correct direction of blowing air out of vents. Then make final wire connection crimps and tape up wires.

How to Identify and Fix Common car Problems ?

We do suggest that you replace the resistor at the same time. It may not be critical, but this will keep the system more uniform. The issue may even be related to the resistor. If you know that it is not related to the issue, then you do not have to replace it.
The most common reasons a Nissan Sentra heater isn`t working are a broken heater blower motor, a problem with the thermostat, or a failed heater blower motor resistor. Search our network of RepairPal Certified shops near you to speak with a technician about your issue.
Blower motor replacement is usually fairly straightforward. Buy a new one, bringing along the old part to make sure it`s the same model. If you`re unsure about doing in yourself, simply head over to your local NAPA AutoCare and their experts can tackle it for you.
Power Dissipated by Resistor – What Can Go Wrong

If you exceed the power rating of a resistor, it may get extremely hot. If you continue to increase the current, the power dissipated will also increase. The resistor will continue to increase in temperature–and may even burst into flames–before it finally fails.

If the resistor shorts or fails, it may cause the blower motor to remain stuck on one fan speed. The heating and air conditioning systems may still function at one speed, however the resistor will have to be replaced in order for full functionality to be restored.
If the heater isn`t blowing hot air at you when you turn the system on, the blower fan might have a problem. Either it`s not getting electrical power or, more likely, the motor itself has simply burned out. A blower motor in an older vehicle is likely to burn out over time, and may need replacement.
Faulty heater cores and low or contaminated coolant levels often come hand in hand, and both issues may lead to your engine overheating and your heater not blowing hot air.
Many vehicles have two fuses for the blower motor, one in the interior fuse block and the other under the hood. The blower motor is usually under the dashboard on the passenger side.
Your car`s blower motor is not only necessary for the operation of your air conditioner. Without a functioning blower motor your engine runs the risk of overheating.
The fan speed can be changed by switching the blower resistor resistance mechanically, using a rotating lever, or electronically by the air conditioning system. The blower motor resistor is responsible for controlling the blower motor speed.
The blower motor relay is the electrical switch that is used to supply the power for the vehicle`s blower motor. The blower motor is the component responsible for pushing air through the vents of your vehicle`s heating and air conditioning systems.
The blower motor resistor is designed to last for the car`s lifespan. In most cases, these resistors will wear out long before the car does. Usually, the wear that the blower motor resistor has is due to the constant use that it gets and the heat that it is exposed on a regular basis.

Burnt yellow and brown wires at blower motor resistor, is this indicator of bad resistor or bad motor? 2011 Chevrolet Malibu
ANSWER : Hi there – most likely, the problem is the blower motor resistor pack. A quick way to test this is if the blower fan still works in the "Max" position. If it does, that pretty-much rules out the motor as the problem. The resistor pack can get pretty hot while running the fan in lower settings, which could damage the wiring to it just from the heat. If the resistor shorts, increased electrical load could burn the wiring insulation as well. I would suggest an electrical inspection by a mobile, professional mechanic, such as one from YourMechanic, who will come to your location, diagnose this problem, give you an accurate assessment of damage and cost estimate for repairs.

Engine light came on after washing engine 2 days later then went off and oil lamp came on three times – driving – went off.
ANSWER : Well, you have a couple of questions here and not a lot to go on, so I’ll address them as best I can. Your Check Engine light indicates that a trouble code from a sensor has been registered in the engine’s computer. You’ll need to have a certified technician, like one from YourMechanic, connect a scanner/code reader to the car’s diagnostic connector to inspect what trouble codes have been stored. Trouble codes are a starting point for any technician; in most cases, simply replacing the sensor that sent the code will not remedy the problem and it’s necessary to "look past" the code to get to the root cause.

If your oil pressure lamp is coming on after washing the engine but you haven’t previously noticed problems like knocking or valve noise, or haven’t seen the oil lamp come on before, there’s a good chance that the engine wash caused a short in your oil pressure sending unit or its associated wiring or connectors.

As for whether the Jeep is worth more investment, Kelly Blue Book puts the resale value of an ’04 Jeep Liberty at about $3,500. You’ve replaced a lot of parts, including a new transmission, so if the vehicle is reliable and solid right now it may be worth holding onto it for awhile longer. If you have to keep replacing parts at this point, though, you may be reaching the point of diminishing returns.

If you need assistance with this, consider YourMechanic as one of our mobile technicians can diagnose your car’s Check Engine and Oil Pressure Light firsthand to avoid any unnecessary repairs. Best of luck to you!

Blower Motor only working on highest speed.
ANSWER : You mentioned that you started to smell something. This may be a sign that the blower controller or the resistor was burnt out when it was hooked up wrong. You should try replacing the blower controlling resistor that you hooked up wrong. But like you mentioned, it could also be a fuse problem that has shorted. If you would like to have this looked at, have a certified technician, like one from YourMechanic inspect the wiring and determine what should be done.

If I get my blower motor replaced, do I also have to have my Ac recharged after replacing blower motor?
ANSWER : The blower motor on this vehicle is a simple removal and installation and does not require anything to be touched on the A/C. The refrigerant does not have to be removed. The only component that has to be removed is the glove box under cover to get to the blower motor.

Need help installing new fuel pump
ANSWER : Without seeing the old pump and the new one it would be hard to really help you. Aftermarket pumps sometimes come pre-wired and other times you have to splice it in. If you need help with the installation, I’d suggest contacting a certified mobile mechanic who can come replace your fuel pump at your own convenience.

Blower motor transistor fins
ANSWER : Compare the new part and old part. If they are not the same size and fit, then they gave you the wrong part. The transistor will get very hot on the fins and may melt into the plastic if touching it.

It cranks doesn’t start new batteries, oil pressure switch new pmd, new injection pump. new alternator, new glow plugs.
ANSWER : Hello.

A crank but no start condition can be caused by many things. A few common causes are a faulty crank position sensor, or issues with the fuel system. The crank position sensor is used in the engine’s fuel calculations, and in some cases it’s failure will disable the engine.

It may also be possible that there is issues with the fuel system that are preventing the engine from running. If the fuel pump or injectors have an issue the engine may not run correctly, or at all. It may also be possible, for either case, that the issue may be wiring related.

I would start by trying to determine if the engine is getting fuel and then going from there. If you need assistance with these checks, consider YourMechanic, as one of our mobile technicians can come to you in order to diagnose your starting issue firsthand for an accurate repair.
