Dorman – Staked Spindle Nut M20-1.5 Hex Size 30mm (Part No. 615-089.1)
In most cases a bent axle cannot be repaired and must be replaced. A bad axle will lead to other damage to your vehicle down the line. So it`s critical that the axle be in great condition to avoid other costly repairs.
Axle nut torque specifications: 151 ft-lb/205 Nm.
Front/Rear Legroom: 40.9 inches/39.9 inches.
If there was no differential on the axle, both wheels would revolve at the same speed. Therefore, they would have tendency to cover the same distance as each other, which would result in tendency to go in a straight line. A car with rear wheel drive would push the front wheels, with their tyres skidding helplessly.
So here`s our stance on the debate: don`t jack up your vehicle by the differential unless the manufacturer recommends it. It doesn`t matter what your neighbor says, or what you saw the tire shop guys doing at breakneck speed without a hitch.
Axle Flotation

A full-float axle flange bolts to the wheel hub and can be removed without taking the wheel off or jacking the vehicle up.

A differential is part of the front and/or rear axle assembly. The axle is the central shaft that the wheels on the vehicle rotate around. The photo below shows where it`s located on a vehicle with a four wheel drive automatic transmission. The differential allows wheels on the same axle to rotate at different speeds.
Most people will take their cars into the shop when it`s time for a new CV axle, but it`s a job that you can absolutely do yourself with some time, patience, and plenty of elbow grease. Don`t be intimidated, but do spend the time to research your own vehicle to make sure you`re comfortable with the work.
Answers. 151 ft lbs on the axle nut, 96 ft lbs on the hub bolts.
The vehicles` new engines will be turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four units and should generate 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. That puts the 2022 Equinox and Terrain ahead of their 2021 sibling by 67 horsepower and 55 lb-ft of torque.
Dorman – Wheel Lug Nut: M12-1.50 Thread, Conical 60, Acorn, 1.378″ Length, Chrome (Sold by each) (Part No. 611-100)
Rearends with open differentials usually have a tag located on the left lower cover-mounting bolt. Inside the differential cover, the ring gear will be marked with tooth counts such as 10,41 for 4.10:1, and so on. The 10-bolt differential cover is located on the rear of the axle and is an 11-inch x 10.25-inch oval.

Engineered for use with impact drivers, each axle nut socket measures 90mm (3.54 inches) in total length and is extra deep to fit various applications.
Many times, if you locate a 10-bolt rearend, it`s usually a 7.5-inch unit. These have been around since 1975, and were installed under cars, small trucks, and vans up to the 2005 model year.

ANSWER : Aloha. Ah – the infamous "it’s all gone" excuse. To be quite blunt, you’re being ripped off. If a professional mechanic can’t explain what exactly is damaged with any mechanical component, they are taking advantage of you. I would get your car back and contact a different mechanic. Or, feel free to send us some information about the symptoms your car is experiencing that led you to take the car to the mechanic in the first place. Maybe we can help diagnose your issue and allow you to bring that info to a different mechanic. Mahalo.

My heat doesn’t work in the rear of my vehicle.
ANSWER : The first thing to do is to check the two heater lines under rear of truck to see if both lines are hot when engine is warmed up. If they are both hot to the touch then you most likely have a bad temperature control actuator on the rear blower case. Replace actuator and recheck for temperature control.

Gas gauge isn’t working. Sometimes the speedometer and the temperature gauge doesn’t work. Limited lights around gauges and radio.
ANSWER : Hi there. The dashboard lights are burned out in the dash and the dimmer switch could be worn causing the lights to be weak. The gauges that seldom fail to work is most likely a loose wire in the dash panel. The fuel gauge that is not going to E when shutting off the car has a damaged rheostat within the sending unit. The sending unit is in the fuel tank attached to the fuel pump. If you need further assistance with your gauges not working, then seek out a professional, such as one from Your Mechanic, to help you.

Dash, Tail/brake, dome, trunk, glovebox, and door lights won’t work, dash doing weird things.
ANSWER : Hi there. Sure would appear a lot is going on electrically all at once. This could be, a problem in the PDC (power distribution center). The PDC is typically located under the hood and contains numerous fuses and relays. I don’t believe any one fuse will resolve all of the electrical issues. There is a possibility, it is not a power supply issue. It may be, the result of a poor electrical ground common to the inoperative components. Proper circuit testing should be performed. This would confirm the cause of multiple electrical failures. I recommend having your vehicle’s electrical problems be diagnosed and repaired by a certified technician, such as one from YourMechanic.

My dash board don’t work my front light work when I change my light into high beam and my back window won’t go down
ANSWER : As unfortunate as it is, your vehicle would be considered flood damaged. Diagnosing electrical problems in a flood damaged vehicle is nearly impossible. This would take many hours or even days to determine which wiring harnesses and circuits have been affected. Then nearly all of the wiring under the dash would likely require replacement as well as many sensors and switches. On a BMW vehicle, the amount of wires and switches are likely more than that of a lower end vehicle. Due to the inefficiency in cost, you would likely be able to purchase another BMW like yours for less than what it would cost to fix your car. Many insurance companies would consider this type of damage to total out the vehicle unfortuantely.

Windshield wipers stopped working. They’ll suddenly stop working then suddenly start working again. Has been happening for a week.
ANSWER : The problem you are describing likely stems from an intermittent electrical fault in the wiper circuit. The windshield wiper system uses a small electric motor to move the wiper arms that you see on the windshield. That electric motor is controlled through a switch, relay, fuse, and wiring. One, or more, of those electrical components has failed although it is also possible that the mechanical arms are binding (seized, if the lubricant has dried out) thus causing the electric circuit to the motor to overload. Regardless of the underlying fault, if you request a non functioning wiper diagnostic/repair, the responding certified mechanic will get this taken care of for you. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic as we are always here to help you.

Full Floating Rear Axle Housing
ANSWER : Hello. Usually the entire axle is replaced when there is a serious failure with the differential or one of the axles. Usually a failure of this degree will render the vehicle undriveable or immobilized, or at the very least will produce noticeable symptoms. If there does not appear to be any leaks, or noises from the axle housing then I would ask the service adviser why he is recommending an axle replacement.
