My heat and air turns on without a problem but does not blow very hard (heat blows harder than air). Rattling noise.

Will be taking in for a diagnosis and estimate but curious as what to expect…The heat and air turns on without a problem but it does not blow very hard. It's been declining over the past several weeks. A rattling noise just started this weekend. The heat will eventually begin blowing very hard (normally), but the air struggles. Temperature is cold or hot accordingly, but cold is without the power of a "blower,' and the heat "blower" is slow to kick into gear. Thank you.

My car has 53000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Experienced mechanics share their insights in answering this question :
The heater and the air conditioner both use the same blower motor. However, Nissan does have two separate fuses for the same unit. One of them can be blown. There are also resistors in the system that can fail. There are several electrical tests that can be done, but depending on the condition, it may be more practice to change the entire unit. Due to the age of your vehicle, and the Juke’s history of blower motor issues, it’s very likely a simple fuse issue. These can (for the most part) be visually inspected, and are cheap.

How to Identify and Fix Common car Problems ?

So if you turn on your AC and hear a rattle, it may mean you have a failing or bad: AC compressor. Rattling or your car air conditioner making loud humming noises which get worse as you accelerate can both be signs you need to replace your AC compressor.
The most common reasons a Nissan Juke heater isn`t working are a broken heater blower motor, a problem with the thermostat, or a failed heater blower motor resistor.
The heater blower motor resistor is located underneath the dashboard in the heater/AC compartment. The resistor enables the heater blower motor to change the speed of the fan.
The most common reasons a Nissan Juke ac isn`t working are a refrigerant leak, an electrical climate control issue, or a problem with the air conditioning compressor. You may not realize there`s a refrigerant leak until the air conditioner stops blowing cold.
In most cases, when a car`s AC fan starts making noise, it`s due to friction in the engine. This can be caused by various factors, including lack of lubrication, dirty air filters, or low coolant levels. If your car makes a rattling noise when the AC fan is on, you may have a problem with the fan blades themselves.
Heater Core Gurgling Noise

This usually means that there is air trapped in the coolant that circulates through the core. This can happen for a number of reasons, including a blown head gasket or a leak developing in the heater control valve.

If the heater isn`t blowing hot air at you when you turn the system on, the blower fan might have a problem. Either it`s not getting electrical power or, more likely, the motor itself has simply burned out. A blower motor in an older vehicle is likely to burn out over time, and may need replacement.
If the panels on your AC unit aren`t tightened properly, they can rattle when your AC system is turned on. The fix: Check the panels on your outdoor AC unit and tighten any loose screws. If your AC is still making rattling noises, it`s probably time to contact a professional.

Sometimes leaves and debris get into the blower motor and cause a clicking sound. Your first course of action should be to remove any debris from the motor. If you`ve done so and the blower motor still rattles when the car idles, you should replace it.
A loose duct joint will cause metal components to flap around, resulting in clanking and rattling sounds. As a short-term fix, loose sections can be wrapped with metal tape to reconnect them. Try to tighten any loose nuts and bolts as well. However, only a professional can provide a permanent fix for loose ducts.

My heat and air turns on without a problem but does not blow very hard (heat blows harder than air). Rattling noise.
ANSWER : The heater and the air conditioner both use the same blower motor. However, Nissan does have two separate fuses for the same unit. One of them can be blown. everytime I turn my car on the ac starts to blow air even if I switch it off. it won’t blow cold air or heat.
ANSWER : Hi there. Based on your question and input, it looks like your AC control switches are damaged, causing the vents to activate even if the switch is not activated. This is sometimes an electrical problem, as it could be triggered by a damaged electrical relay. You might want to have a professional mechanic complete an AC is not working inspection, so they can determine what is causing this issue you’re experiencing and recommend the right repair.

Overheats When Blowing Warm With Heat & AC But Not When Blowing Cold AC
ANSWER : Hello, thank you for writing in. There are so many different codes being triggered, that it is unlikely all of these systems are having issues at once. We need to focus in on the fact the engine is overheating at all. You will want to check the level and condition of the coolant and the overflow tank. If the level is full then you may have an issue with the thermostat, radiator cap, or water pump. These can all be tested and changed relatively easily. If the main cooling system is okay, you will want to look into the heater core and climate control module. For more diagnostic help, contact our service department to schedule an appointment.

air conditioner started making loud screeching noise and started only blowing hot air, then the noise stopped but still only blows
ANSWER : The noise is possibly from a failed compressor clutch or the compressor itself is faulty. Another possibility is the pulley bearing on the front of the compressor has failed. The issue should be fairly evident to the inspecting mechanic after some simple tests. To resolve this, the recommended diagnostic is an a/c system inspection. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic as we are always here to help you.

Air conditioner blowing warm air. Heat blowing warm air. Neither hot or cold
ANSWER : If the A/C system is full and pressures are reading correctly, and the cooling system is in proper working order (thermostat opens, no overheating, etc.), then most likely the problem lies with the dash. The climate control head unit may be at fault. One or more blend doors behind the dash may be stuck or broken. If you’re unable to fix this issue yourself, consider YourMechanic, as one of our mobile technician can come diagnose the issue with your A/C firsthand and help you fix it accordingly.

Air conditioning blowing mildly cold air on the coldest setting, turned off/on again, now blowing cold air, should it be checked?
ANSWER : If you are getting ready for a long trip and suspect the cooling fan may be not coming on for the radiator and a/c then you should have the a/c and cooling system performanced checked before trip. Nothing worse than breaking down when out of town in a strange area.

Car will blow cold air but will not blow heat
ANSWER : The heater not working in some cases may be related to the overheating problem you are also having. This may be due to a faulty heater blower motor or potentially a bad heater core. As you may know, the heater core is a small radiator like unit that circulates the hot coolant from the engine through the heater core which then uses this warm coolant to heat the inside of the car with the help of the blower motor that blows the warm air through the vents inside the car. When the cooling system is not properly circulating coolant through the motor, this results in the warm coolant not being pumped through the heater core properly in order to warm the inside of the vehicle.

Engine overheating can be caused by a number of things such as low coolant levels, a faulty thermostat, or a failing coolant fan switch. As you may know the coolant fan switch helps to maintain the proper coolant temperature by turning on and off at specific temperature thresholds. When this switch is not working properly, this can cause the fans to come on intermittently, all the time or sometimes not at all. When this happens you will notice a temperature spike and drop occasionally as the fan comes on and off. When your thermostat is not working properly or is stuck closed, this will not allow the coolant to properly circulate through the engine, which may cause the engine temperature to fluctuate erratically or in some cases just remain hot. As mentioned above, this also restricts the warm coolant from flowing through the heater core which uses this to blow warm air into the cab of the vehicle. I would suggest having an expert from Your Mechanic come to your home to diagnose your cooling system.

Air conditioning is blowing hot air – car stalls when A/C is on
ANSWER : In order to diagnose all the different problems you have, I having the A/C pressures checked to see if the system is low on refrigerant from a leaking compressor or another component. The rough idle may be due to a dirty throttle body and idle control system. If you would like to have this checked for you, a certified professional from YourMechanic can come to your car’s location to inspect the A/C and rough idle in order to proceed with the proper repairs.
