How would i know if my fuses have been switched? A friend of mine’s ex boyfriend

A friend of mine's ex boyfriend messed with her fuse box and we can't figure out what's wrong. She believes he switched some of them and possibly took a few but we can't figure it out the manuals aren't color-coded or say anything specific about the chips and where they should be placed. Please help!
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hi there. You would need a fuse box diagram to be able to check the fuses. The manual should have a diagram and tell you what amperage ratings that the fuses should be. Most vehicles will also have a diagram on the fuse box cover. If you want to have the fuses checked, consider YourMechanic, as a certified mechanic can come to you to [make sure that the fuses are correct] https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/fuse-replacement

If you are unsure of what to look for, take your car to a mechanic! You can also use a multimeter to test the continuity of a fuse. But make sure to remove the multimeter from the fuse box before testing the fuse.
Each circuit breaker or fuse on your electrical service panel in a building should be identified to show the area of the building whose circuits it protects. This can be done by putting adhesive-backed paper or plastic stickers next to each circuit breaker or fuse.
Step 1: Check the Owner`s Manual and Turn Off the Engine

Most vehicles have two fuse boxes: one on the driver`s side of the instrument panel and one under the hood. Typically, the owner`s manual will have a diagram of both of these boxes, with each fuse labeled so that you can find the one that needs to be replaced.

A fuse performs both detection interruption functions, i.e. it detects the fault itself and interrupts the current flow in the circuit if there is any fault. The circuit breaker performs only the interruption of current flow in the circuit. The detection of fault in the circuit is done by the relay system.
Not all car fuses are the same, and most cars have multiple fuses of varying sizes for different electrical components. When you are replacing a car fuse, it is essential to replace the blown fuse with a new one of the same type and size. You should also never replace a blown fuse with one of a higher amperage rating.
Given the nature of how fuses work, it`s critical that you use the proper amp rating for the circuit. Too low a value and your fuses will blow prematurely, while using too high a value defeats the purpose of the fuse in the first place.
Should you disconnect the battery when changing fuses? Yes. Always ensure to turn off your vehicle`s ignition and disconnect the battery before you open or start working on a fuse box.
Electronic parts of a car often include fuses. These parts alone can cost anywhere from $10 to $20 on their own. Labor costs are often the bulk of the cost to fix car fuses, with fees ranging from $65 to $100 per hour. The average car fuse repair job costs anywhere from $110 to $140.
If you simply blew a fuse, you likely don`t need to replace the whole box; all you need to replace is the fuse itself. Individual fuses typically range from $3 to $10 per fuse. If you have a circuit breaker that needs a switch replacement, you can expect to pay around $5 to $15 per switch.

installed a stereo but blew a fuse going to the lights on my dash board gauges (speedometer, gas gauge, rpm, etc).
ANSWER : The best thing to do is check all the fuses. It is entirely possible you have blown more than one fuse as well some fuses supply power to other fuses. I rarely look up the location of a fuse in an information system as this sort of information has a high rate of inaccuracy. Most vehicles will have a panel that labels each fuse anyhow. This will always be far more accurate. If you find any blown fuses, no matter what they power, replace them.

The best way to test a fuse is with a test light. This will enable you to check them all quickly. Spade style fuses have metal exposed on the back side that you can quickly test them without removing them one at a time.

Often times, fuses will power multiple systems. If you suspect the tail lights are not working, simply test them. If you should replace the fuses and it blows again, disconnect the stereo and see if the problem persists. Definitely double check the supplied wiring diagram with the stereo and I strongly suggest getting a hold of a factory diagram for your car so you can make sure you are indeed connecting to the correct circuits.

If you should need further assistance, I recommend having an expert inspect the electrical system for you in order to pinpoint the right fix.

Car blows ecm run/start fuse after starting and then dies replaced fuse and repeats
ANSWER : Hi there. Typically when this issue occurs, damage will be instant – meaning if it’s going to damage the ECU, replacing the fuses would not help start the vehicle. So, at first glance, I would assume the ECU is OK. What is more likely is that you have an exposed wire somewhere that is causing the fuses to pop. Trying to diagnose these issues can be tricky sometimes, so it might be a good idea to have a professional mechanic complete an electrical problems inspection to isolate why you’re having these issues and recommend the right repairs.

What is the second switch called on my headlight switch?
ANSWER : Hi there. The second switch on that turn signal indicator is the parking lights. However, I understand what you’re thinking about doing and would highly recommend purchasing a detailed wiring schematic for your Mitsubishi or a repair and service manual first. Many people attempt to do this and end up calling a mechanic to rewire their accessory system due to an electrical fault or the wrong wires hooked up. Proceed with caution or have a local professional mechanic or car audio / alarm company provide you with the detailed instructions to complete this project.

Switched light bulbs, switched fuse, exchanged the reverse light switch, still not working
ANSWER : Hi there. If you are having problems with a reverse lights, it is possibly due to a reverse shift sensor or damaged electrical relay that powers the light. It’s also possible that you have an exposed wire that’s causing this issue. You might want to have a professional mechanic complete a light not working inspection to determine what is causing this issue.

Passenger seat heater not working properly.
ANSWER : Hello and thank you for contacting YourMechanic. The book says that you can use a 15, 20, 25, or 30 amp fuse. The power to the heaters are operated through the wiring to the main harness. There could have been a wire tied into it to make the seat work on the same circuit as the driver seat. This is common to find in the vehicles.

You can try putting a 15 amp fuse in the slot and see if the seat works. Try to avoid using a high amp fuse for if there is a problem with the heater you don’t want to burn it. If nothing seems to work, then the heater in the seat has failed and needs replaced.

If you need further assistance troubleshooting your vehicle, then seek out a technician, such as one from Your Mechanic, that can assist you with a seat inspection at your home or office. Best of luck.

Truck cranks but won’t start after switching led light bar switch.
ANSWER : Hi there. Although we do not provide specific advice on mechanical issues due to aftermarket part accessory add-on’s, it is quite possible that the addition of the amp switch, it’s impacted the ignition system. I would start by verifying that your ground connection to the amp switch is solid and that it is installed in conjunction with Ford’s wiring specifics. You can contact a local dealer or search online to get a wiring diagram.

My truck will not go over 20 rpm even when reeving, but sometimes it will. would you know any reason it would do this
ANSWER : You would need to first to check the fuel pressure to see if the fuel pump in the tank and on frame is pumping the correct pressure and the filter is not clogged. Replace the fuel pump on frame and in tank then replace the filter if pressures are below 35 to 45psi. if you need help diagnosing the problem due to needing a mechanic like one from YourMechanic to do all the tests and replace the pumps and filter for you. If fuel pressures are not low and test okay then you may have clogged catalyst.
