My car is empty after 2 days of fill up is my car fuel economy bad

i notice the my gas tank gets empty quickly should i be concerned

My car has 126398 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Experienced mechanics share their insights in answering this question :
Your fuel mileage should not be based on time but by how many miles you drive. You should fill the tank completely and mark the miles you have. Drive a couple hundred miles and then fill the tank again and take the miles you drove and divide the gallons to fill the tank to get your mileage per gallon you are getting.

The fuel consumption of this Kia Sportage 2004 2.7 V6 4WD in combined mode (combining urban and highway driving) is 10 litres per 100km (10 km/l), fuel consumption in city – 13.2 l/100km, highway fuel economy – 8.2 l/100km.
If your car tyres are worn out, the grip is lost and as a result, they spin more to move. This can be a major reason which can cause your car to consume more fuel. On the other hand, if your tyres are inflated below the recommended pressure, your car will consume more fuel in this case too.
Typically, you`ll have 1.5 to 2 gallons of gas left in your tank when the gas light turns on in your Kia. would have 48 to 64 miles left before it runs out of gas.
Kia Sportage 2021 Fuel consumption

The Kia Sportage currently offers fuel consumption from 6.3 to 8.5L/100km.

Even when driven in hybrid mode, you can expect to see around 50mpg (if you keep the battery charged). The 1.6 T-GDi 230 HEV is pretty frugal, clocking up 48.7mpg in official testing, and 42.3mpg in our real-world test.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

The Sportage is rated for 25 mpg city and 32 mpg highway when equipped with front-wheel drive; all-wheel drive models are rated for 23 mpg city and 28 mpg highway by the EPA.

Air conditioning uses fuel

An air-conditioning (a/c) system can increase fuel consumption by up to 20% because of the extra load on the engine. The actual load depends on the vehicle`s interior size, the outdoor temperature and other conditions.

The 2011 Kia Sportage has a gas tank capacity of 14.5 gallons (55 liters). Sportages produced between 2012 and 2016 have a fuel tank capacity of 15.3 gallons (59 liters). Finally, Kia Sportages built from 2017 to the present have a gas tank size of 16.4 gallons or 63 liters.
The Kia Forte can go an average of 32 miles on empty, but this depends on a few other factors.
Buyers looking for a petrol engine in their Kia Sportage will be offered our favourite engine, the 148bhp 1.6-litre T-GDi. You can have a six-speed manual gearbox, but if you want mild-hybrid technology (MHEV), you need to opt for the seven-speed automatic, which also introduces the option of four-wheel drive (AWD).
Kia recommends that you use unleaded gasoline (petrol) which has an octane rating of RON (Research Octane Number) 91 / AKI (Antiknock Index) 87 or higher.
The base engine is a 2.4-litre four-cylinder rated at 181 horsepower, while a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine producing 237 horsepower is optional.
The diesel fares better for fuel economy. The 1.6-litre CRDi mild hybrid with 136hp claims between 47.9mpg and 50.4mpg with the manual gearbox. Choose the automatic front-wheel-drive version and this ranges between 47.1-50.4mpg, and the all-wheel-drive version sees this drop to as low at 42.8mpg.
2022 Kia Sportage MPG and Gas Mileage Data

This when partnered with a standard 16.4-gallon fuel tank allows the 2022 Kia Sportage to deliver a combined driving range of 426 miles on a full tank.

Kia Sportage 2018 1.6 T-GDI fuel consumption is 6.8 litres per 100km in combined city/highway mode (14.7 km/l) – this is one of most fuel efficient Kia Sportage 2018 versions, city fuel economy – 6.8 l/100km, fuel consumption on highway – 6.8 l/100km.
These days, 23 MPG or higher in combined EPA fuel economy is considered good gas mileage for your vehicle. Of course, some hybrid models dwarf that figure these days, getting up to 58 or 59 MPG; and even some non-hybrid models can get well into the high 30`s or even low 40`s in terms of MPGs.
Kia Sportage 2018 1.6 T-GDI fuel consumption is 6.8 litres per 100km in combined city/highway mode (14.7 km/l) – this is one of most fuel efficient Kia Sportage 2018 versions, city fuel economy – 6.8 l/100km, fuel consumption on highway – 6.8 l/100km.
2022 Kia Sportage AWD with a 2.0 Liter engine, promises a mileage of 19 MPG on city roads, 24 MPG on highways, and a combined fuel economy of 21 MPG. And with 2022 Kia Sportage AWD 2.4 Liter-engine, you`ll get a mileage of 22 MPG on city roads, 26 MPG on highways, and 23 mpg combined.

My car will not start Intermittently. I purchased a new battery 2 weeks ago and yesterday the car wouldn’t start. Got a jump and
ANSWER : The issue you are having is probably due to an intermittent fault in the starter motor itself or a deficiency in the starter electrical circuit, for example a large voltage drop due to a poor ground or a high resistance connection. These issues can be readily diagnosed and resolved on a mobile basis if you request a hard starting diagnostic. If you request that diagnostic, the responding certified mechanic will get this resolved for you promptly. Based on Toyota’s Factory Service Manual, the battery should not be disconnected if the vehicle engine is running. The battery acts as a large resistive voltage sink and consequently taking the battery out of the circuit, while the alternator is still running, can create a voltage spike on the car’s electrical system which is not good for voltage sensitive components such as the engine computer. Just had cluster replaced on a 2005 Ford freestyle. Filled up tank and a day later was driving car fuel tank light came on
ANSWER : Hi there. The only mechanical item that might cause the fuel gauge to act this way would be some malfunction within the EVAP vent solenoid system. However, if this occurred right after replacing the instrument cluster, it’s more likely due to an electrical fault that occurred during the installation. I would contact the company or mechanic that completed the instrument cluster installation to ask them if they can take a look at this issue, as it is likely an installation fault and not mechanical.

I have changed the car battery on my Renault Grand Scenic and used the car that day on the sunday. However 3 days later the car wo
ANSWER : Hello, thank you for writing in. If the new battery has also failed to hold a charge, the alternator is likely not working correctly. You can test the alternator at home with a voltmeter, or you can remove it and have it tested at most automotive parts stores. It will need to be replaced if it has failed. You will also want to make sure all of the electrical connections are clean, dry, and tight. For more help testing or replacing the alternator, contact our service department to schedule an appointment.

Replaced alternator on car 2 times each time shows it’s charging 14v let car run for a little bit then test drive and car voltage
ANSWER : There are reports that the replacement alternators will not communicate with the engine computer and will not charge correctly. I recommend using only the manufacturer approved replacement part. It can be new or remanufactured but approved for use in the vehicle. Some lower cost alternators on the aftermarket will have charging problems since they will not communicate with the ECM on the vehicle and will stop charging.

My car accelerates too quickly when I apply throttle and I am receiving poor fuel economy numbers
ANSWER : The acceleration you are experiencing is normal. The car has a large, very powerful engine and was designed to reach 60 MPH in less than 4 seconds which is exceptional. The gas mileage you are reporting is at the lower end of the range reported for this vehicle but it is not extremely low. The EPA city rating is 18 MPG so you are about 10% below the city rating. You can maximize mileage by: keeping the tires adequately inflated; ensuring vehicle wheel alignment is correct; check for stuck brake caliper(s); maintain consistent vehicle speed; make sure engine temperature is in normal range and not too low due to a stuck open cooling system thermostat; and make sure there is no excess weight in vehicle. If mileage does not improve after verifying all of the foregoing, or if you simply want all the foregoing inspected, please request a vehicle fuel efficiency diagnostic and the responding certified mechanic will get this issue investigated and resolved for you. Vehicle hard starting & fuel economy issue.
ANSWER : Check for proper fuel pressure – both while the vehicle is running, and after running. I suspect you will find that fuel pressure is not being maintained in the pressurized portion of the system due to a fuel pressure regulator – which can also leak fuel (o-ring leaking). The inability to maintain proper fuel pressure overnight means the fuel pump has to work longer, while trying to start your engine, to get up to anything close to operating pressure so the engine will fire. Check the fuel filter for clogs as well. A clogged filter will hamper both startup and fuel pressure while driving. A YourMechanic certified technician can perform a Car is hard to start Inspection, or a Car is getting worse gas mileage Inspection, on your vehicle to help diagnose and repair this issue.

My car fuel performance is very bad !! really my mpg reduced by 50% what is the problem ?? Thank you in advance
ANSWER : Hi there:

The problem with trying to diagnose fuel economy issues is the fact that many variables can cause MPG problems, ranging from driving conditions, driver input, time of year (for winter and summer blends of gasoline) and simple weather conditions. However, in general, dirty throttle body (which wasn’t on your list of services completed), the idle control valve and EGR valve are common components that when dirty or faulty, will negatively impact fuel economy. Before you start to replace or service these parts however, you might want to have a mobile mechanic complete a car is getting poor fuel economy inspection first; so they can inspect your 2003 Kia personally and diagnose the issue for you.
