How do you reset the seat belt light on a 2006 Murano?

The driver's seat was recently removed from the 2006 Murano to make a repair on the upholstery. When the seat was reinstalled into the vehicle, the seat belt warning light started to flash and continues to flash with the seat belt latched. (The light did not flash before the seat was removed from the vehicle.) The seat repairman said he made all of the necessary plug-ins after the seat repair. What can be done to reset or turn this light off in the dashboard? (No other warning lights appear on after the vehicle after it has been started.)

In most cases, the seat belt light will stay on when the seat belt sensor is damaged, or the housing where the buckle is inserted is damaged and needs to be replaced. With the ABS light, this could be an indication of a damaged ABS module, individual wheel sensors or electrical harness failure.
In most cases, however, resetting a seat belt tensioner is simply a matter of unbuckling the seatbelt and letting it retract fully into its housing. Once the seatbelt is fully retracted, you should hear or feel the tensioner mechanism click into place. You can then buckle the seatbelt and continue on your way.
A light indicates a passenger has fastened their seatbelt properly, while an empty seat shows the seatbelt is still to be secured. The system will also go into action if it detects an unfastened seatbelt when the car is travelling at over 15mph.
Your Seatbelts Aren`t Buckled Properly

If your seatbelt doesn`t buckle all the way–even if it feels secure–the sensor will toss up the airbag light. This could be due to some debris (like a loose coin) getting stuck in the belt buckle, or it could be a problem with the sensor wires themselves.

Located under the drivers seat, or sometimes the passenger seat on certain vehicles is the airbag and SRS (supplemental restraint system) unit. This system is tied in with your seat belt, along with the passenger occupancy sensor on the seat.
The settings in the vehicle information display can be reset back to the factory default. To reset the vehicle information display: Select “Factory Reset” using the scroll dial (1) and push it. Select “Yes” to return all settings back to default by pushing the scroll dial (1).
It may correct itself once the battery is fully charged again, but if not the backup battery will need to be recharged along with a sensor reset. Your vehicle has many different sensors connected to different components.
Seatbelt Indicator

This light looks like a passenger in a seat with their seatbelt on. Typically, this light is flashing and indicates a passenger in the vehicle does not have their seatbelt fastened. Sometimes items on the seat can give an indication that there is someone sitting there.

If your airbag has been deployed and has not been properly reset, the airbag light will be on. If the airbag hasn`t been deployed, the light will come on when the system senses that it cannot activate the airbag; this means that there is some sort of a problem with the airbag system in your vehicle.
During a collision, the airbag computer initiates the seatbelt igniter to ignite, activating the seatbelts and locking them. Once seatbelts have been locked after a collision, they will need to be replaced, or repaired and reset. Seatbelts are designed to have a gas charge which ignites, locking the seatbelt.
isn`t retracting, there are two probable causes: the belt is twisted, or the retractor is malfunctioning. You`ll be able to fix the belt yourself, but you`ll need to replace the retractor if it`s malfunctioning.
If your seatbelt warning light is on even though the seatbelts are fastened, then you are safe to continue driving as long as the seatbelts are secure. However, this could indicate a fault with the seatbelt system, so it`s important to take your car for a diagnostics test to determine and fix the problem.
After the vehicle is in an accident there is a pyro sensor that is in the seat belt that is initiated to lock the belt. This will store a code and keep your airbag light on. You can also use a diagnostic scan tool to see if there are any seat belt codes stored in the system.
The sensor detects whether the seat belt buckle is latched or unlatched, allowing the passenger safety system to determine the optimum airbag deployment. It is also used as an input to the electronic park brake and the unbuckled warning system.
the srs warning light on the dashboard usually looks like a side view of a person sitting in a seat with a seat belt on, with a large circle (the airbag) in front of the person. it will normally light up briefly each time you start your vehicle, and then go off.
If this lamp lights up or flashes there is a fault in the airbag or seatbelt system.
Your vehicle is equipped with a front passenger seat weight sensors as a part of the supplemental restraint system. These sensors are located under both of the front passenger seat rails.
Reprogram Nissan Key Fob: Nissan Intelligent Key

Insert the key into the ignition, but don`t start the car. Take the key out and repeat this step approximately six times. Keep in mind that it may take up to 10 times to be successful. The hazard lights will flash twice when the car accepts the Nissan Intelligent Key.

No, scanners cannot clear these codes. These codes are stored after a vehicle accident and are also known as crash data.
All airbag control modules can be reset and reprogrammed, except modules that were damaged by a flood, fire, or some other kind of damage that impacted the hardware. Airbag control modules store hard and soft codes caused by accidents.
Even if an airbag looks fully deployed, it may be capable of a second deployment. Disabling the restraint systems is commonly done by disconnecting and isolating the negative battery cable.
A flashing airbag warning light indicates a significant problem with the SRS system meaning you should take it to a repairer immediately. If the light stays on, you should still take it to repairer, however, there are a few things you can try first that could rectify the problem.
In most cases, the seat belt light will stay on when the seat belt sensor is damaged, or the housing where the buckle is inserted is damaged and needs to be replaced. With the ABS light, this could be an indication of a damaged ABS module, individual wheel sensors or electrical harness failure.
Turn the ignition switch on, wait 10 seconds or so, and then turn it off. If the light goes away after a quick ignition check, you can safely write this off as a one-time anomaly. In some vehicles, the airbag on or airbag off light is designed to stay on momentarily after you start the electrical.

Abs light, emergency brake light, steering wheel assist light, engine light, EPC light, traction control light
ANSWER : Hello, thank you for writing in. The vehicle does utilize a lot of the same sensors for these systems. Are there any other codes that are coming up when this code appears? If so you will want to take these into consideration when processing the repair and making a diagnosis. The module may be bad, and replacing it should fix the problem. The lights should turn off once the main computer recognizes the new module and the sensors sync up. If you believe the sensors need to be cleaned you may do so. Do as minimal as possible to make sure you are not damaging the sensor or disrupting the wiring inside. A bad connection would make the lights stay on. With so many lights that are effected by the module being illuminated, the module is likely bad or does not have a connection. Check the connection first and then resort to replacing the unit. No dash lights, back right tail light is out, no parking lights. Brake lights work though as does head lights.
ANSWER : Hi there. In many cases, when you have electrical problems like you’re describing, it’s caused by multiple electrical component failure. It’s likely that a few electrical relays are not working; especially if you have systems that utilize the same components (such as your brake light and tail lights). I would recommend having a professional mobile mechanic come to your location to complete an electrical problems inspection first, so they can pinpoint what is damaged and recommend the right repairs.

hey i had a belt break while traveling on my 2004 honda pilot. It is the small belt and not the serpentine belt. The mechanic t
ANSWER : Hello. The smaller belt is known as your timing belt, and it works inside the engine to keep mechanical components aligned with each other during the compression cycle. The serpentine belt, which is the big belt, drives the alternator, water pump, AC compressor, and a couple of other components. If the small belt broke it is likely the timing belt. This will cause the car to stall, lights to illuminate, and can even cause serious damage to the engine. Typically replacing a timing belt is a lot more complicated and expensive than replacing a serpentine belt. You may want to receive a second opinion on the car before you go ahead with repairs.

ANSWER : Your car has what is called a "safe mode" that will be engaged by the computer when it detects that something critical has gone wrong related to any of the major components in your engine chassis or power train. This may be related to a number of things, most of which should have been registered in the computer when the check engine light came on. I recommend having an expert from YourMechanic come to your location to inspect your check engine light and diagnose any codes registered by your vehicle’s computer.

ANSWER : Hi there. Based on your inquiry, it’s highly probable that you have a damaged light switch or some electrical fault inside the turn signal relay. However, it’s also possible that the brake switch above the brake pedal could also be the source of your problem. Due to the fact that multiple electrical components might be causing this issue, it’s a smart idea to first have a professional mobile mechanic complete a brake lights are not working inspection, so they can determine what’s causing all of these issues and recommend the right repairs.

signals, daytime running lights are not working, park brake light on dash is on steady and chime is dinging steady 4×4 wont engage
ANSWER : This is likely a brake light switch problem. I would suggest testing the brake light switch which should be located down by the brake pedal. This may also be a computer problem as well as indicated by the other lights on in the dash. I would recommend having an expert from YourMechanic come to your home to possibly replace the brake light switch and diagnose with a scanning tool which will download useful data from the truck’s computer indicating what specifically the problem may be.
