I have a 305 5.0 roller cam block with 350 aluminum 220cc Runners, 64cc Combustion Chamber, 2.02 Intake Valves/1.60 Exhaust Valves. Holley high rise intake and 600 double pump carb. What would I call my modify engine?
My car has an automatic transmission.
Experienced mechanics share their insights in answering this question :
Sounds like a nice build. Assuming you used the 305 crank, the engine will still be called a 5.0 or 305, since that is the cubic inch displacement of the engine.

And a powerful 6.0-liter LS-series V-8 drives the rear wheels. Chevrolet only sold the car here as a police cruiser—those PPV letters stand for Police Pursuit Vehicle.
The Caprice PPV`s 6.0-liter V-8 is rated at 355 horsepower (268 kW) and 384 lb-ft of torque (521 Nm).
The Chevrolet Caprice IV 5.0 V8 top speed is 175 Km/h / 109 mph.
1994 – The 260-horsepower (194 Nm) LT1 V-8 engine is offered in the Caprice 9C1, making it one of the fastest full-size police cars ever offered.
The L98 V8 had a claimed 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) time of a little over six seconds.
The L77 is an engine produced by General Motors for full-size vehicles. Displacing 6.0 liters in a V8 configuration, the L77 is part of the fourth-generation Small Block engine family and, for all intents and purposes, is the 6.0-liter Vortec L96 engine used in GM`s GMT900-based trucks and SUVs.
The L77 makes 362 horsepower and it`s a workhorse. This upgrade guide is going to be a little different from most of . This is because many of these engines are still used in commuters. Performance is valued if it can be done without flushing money down the gas tank.
Chevrolet claimed that the Caprice 9C1 could hit a top speed of 150 mph. Faster than both the Crown Victoria and the Dodge Intrepid (which didn`t last long).
A full vinyl roof was optional. A 283 cu in (4.6 L), 195 hp (145 kW) V8 engine was standard, as was a column-mounted 3-speed manual transmission.
1770 kg 3902.18 lbs. 5439 mm 214.13 in. 1980 mm 77.95 in.
The fastest V8 car in the world is the Ariel Atom 500 V8. Even though it has the least amount of power compared to every other car on this list, it does 0-62 mph in less than 2.3 seconds and has a top speed of 170 mph.
V8s are faster than V6 engines. V6 engines in production cars are a bit slower compared to V8, V10, and V12s. However, not all V8s are faster than V6 engines. There are some V8 engines that take longer to reach 60mph than a V6.
Product Information. The Caprice PPV`s V-8 engine delivers a top speed of 155 mph (248 km/h), outperforming the Dodge Charger V-8 and Ford Taurus-based Ford Police Interceptor with EcoBoost.
Dodge Charger, Chevy Caprice, and Ford Police Interceptor Utility are the popular models, though many more favorites have come and gone in the past. The 2022 Ford Police Interceptor Utility AWD clocks a top speed of 148 mph and goes 0-60 in 5.5 seconds.
1991 was the BEST selling year of the last generation Caprice by any standards. The car sold WELL over GM`s original target figure. Motor Trend even made it Car of the Year in 1991.
Starting in 1994, Caprices had two engine choices, both derived from the LT1 engine that powered the C4 Corvette from 1992-1996. That`s right…the Corvette.
For the VR series, Holden no longer used separate model designations for its Statesman and Caprice. Instead, they adopted the same two-letter title as the Commodore.
Early V-8 engines produced less than 100 HP while high-strung racing engines can produce well over 1,000 HP. An inline 6 engine is known for its reliability, as compared to a V6 engine. This is mainly due to the fact that an inline 6 has fewer moving parts than a V6.
The displacement of modern V8 engines is typically between 3.5 to 6.4 L (214 to 391 cu in), though larger and smaller examples have been produced, such as the 8.2 L (500 cu in) V8 engine used in the 1971–1978 Cadillac Eldorado.
Specifically, the 6.0L (364ci) RPO L77 engine has AFM enabled, but does not use VVT.
• Cylinder Heads

However, just because they are the same does not mean there is no difference. The LS2 head flows more air than the LS1 head. In addition, the LS2 engine has a smaller combustion chamber, which leads to an increased compression ratio. With all these mentioned, the LS2 head is better than LS1.

The L77 was the Police car version of the L76. It added flex fuel capability. It was available in the Caprice PPV from 2011-17. It was also used in some Australian vehicles between 2011-15.
Capacity: 8 quarts (with filter). After refill check oil level.
Models with the L77 engine and manual transmissions did not have an active AFM system and had a higher power output because the L77 AFM engine was detuned to 1) improve refinement when the AFM system engaged and 2) reduce fuel consumption.

I have a 2010 camry. I just recently replaced the engine with a 2014 camry engine. Now I have Four engine lights on. I replaced on
ANSWER : If you swapped the engine from a vehicle that is 4 years newer than the car is then you are going to have electrical and sensor incompatibilities that may not be able to be fixed by just a few sensor replacements. There were many changes in computer and emission related items between 2010 and 2014 engines. I would recommend having a mechanic like one from YourMechanic come to you and compare the two engines to isolate the possible differences and see if the problem can be fixed.

Check Engine light on. Would the computer give all error codes in one shot? How do we know the engine’s condition?
ANSWER : Hi there. From the description you have provided, I’m am inclined to agree with your assessment of a used engine being installed in your vehicle. An inspection of the engine, by a qualified technician could determine whether the engine is sound. The Check Engine Light on and having a TPS (throttle position sensor) code does not necessarily mean the sensor is at fault. Circuit tests should be performed to confirm the fault. The likelihood of the ECM (electronic control module/computer) giving you all the codes at once is remote. Other component failures could occur. Address those as they come up. Even though you already made the purchase, I recommend having your vehicle inspected by a certified technician so that you can get a thorough evaluation of the car’s true condition.

Engine malfunction light, reduced engine power, engine powered down
ANSWER : Hi there. There are a lot of things that can cause this on your 2012 BMW M5. I usually start by scanning the computer for codes to see what comes up. If there are not codes then I load test the alternator and the battery to see if they are failing. Low voltage in the electrical system will cause this. If that is fine, then it is usually caused by a failing throttle body. I have seen a lot of these fail due to the motors in them hanging up. If the problem is only happening intermittently, this can make the issue hard to duplicate, but you can still have tests done on the car. If you are going to have this fixed, consider YourMechanic, as a certified mechanic can come to your home or office to test the vehicle and diagnose the Engine Malfunction Light.

How do you replace the rear & side engine mounts without lifting out the engine? & how do you lift the engine out?
ANSWER : Hi…thank you for your questions. If required in the application, a portable engine support bar is used to support an engine during mount replacement. The support bar has lifting capability as well so that the mount can be unloaded and removed. If a particular repair application requires a "crane" (complete engine removal for instance), such are portable these days in any event. With regard to the exhaust system repair, mechanics use ramps to gain access. Six ton portable jack stands will safely support a car two feet into the air which provides more than enough access to repair or replace any exhaust system component. If you desire replacement of the mounts, please refer to YourMechanic’s motor mount replacement service page. For exhaust leaks, please use the exhaust system inspection/repair page page. Once on each of those service pages, if you click on "Get a Quote" and enter your vehicle information (year, make, model) you can obtain cost info and schedule the service. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic as we are always here to help you.

Check engine light refuses to go off after engine replaced
ANSWER : Hello there, you have a long series of issues going on with your 2013 Hyundai Sonata. If you keep getting a repeating oil light on than there is likely a fault in that system.

Since this fault has lasted after the engine was replaced it could be a oil pressure sensor, wiring harness fault, ECU fault, oil pump, oil strainer clogged, or low oil pressure.

To diagnose this issue properly you need a complete vehicle inspection to start from square one and identify the root cause of all this.

Reduce engine power / check engine light is on
ANSWER : Hi there. Most of the time, reduced engine power is caused by a restriction of fuel, or the throttle body’s inability to efficiently mix air and fuel. This could be caused by a failing mass air flow sensor, EGR valve or other fuel system components. Since the check engine light is on, you should have a professional mechanic complete an inspection at your location to determine what codes are stored and which components require repair. This should resolve your issue.

Hey Allen. I just rebuilt (?) the engine on my 06 Acura TL. Now the engine line went on. They told me the engine? can blow up if I
ANSWER : Hi there. I think it may be a good idea to find a new mechanic. Fortunately, our mobile mechanics are able to complete most diagnostic inspections and complete a lot of repairs services at your location, and on your schedule. In what you are describing above, the current issue seems to be with your EVAP system, which is designed to relieve pressure in the fuel tank and also collect harmful vapors before they escape into the air. Now, in regards to the car "blowing up"; that’s a bit dramatic, but it is important to have your issues repaired if it’s related to the EVAP system. Here is what I would recommend. Set up an appointment to have one of our mobile mechanics come to your location to complete a check engine light inspection – (click here to set up an appointment). This will allow them to download the stored error codes that cause the light to illuminate and determine what parts need repair or replacement. Then, they’ll be better prepared to provide you with a repair estimate and complete the repairs in most cases for you.
