Check Engine Light is on. Codes are Bank 1 Sensor 1 Low-voltage, and Bank 2 Sensor 1 Low-voltage. . .

. . .I just got the vehicle back from the repair shop, where I had to get a new fuel tank installed (it was punctured). Since I've gotten it back, it's got zero power, won't accelerate, feels like the timing is off, or it's not getting fuel, or SOMETHING!! Plugged in the OBD-II diagnostic code reader, and it's giving me O2 sensor troubles.
. . .so, i changed the two upstream O2 sensors, and they are still giving me low-voltage trouble codes. Did my mechanic mess something up while he was installing my new fuel tank?

My car has 130000 miles.

Experienced mechanics share their insights in answering this question :
Hi there. What seems to be the issue is the fuel pump is not plugged in. The Oxygen Sensors are working and telling you that the system is too lean with having a low voltage reading. If it was just the upstream sensor, then it would be the wiring, however, both sensors are picking up an issue. This is why the engine is running rough and has no power. If you need further assistance with your vehicle having a loss of power, then seek out a professional, such as one from Your Mechanic, to help you.

How to Identify and Fix Common car Problems ?

Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced mechanics :

A weak fuel pump may throw off your car`s air/fuel ratio, causing the engine control module (ECM) to turn on the check engine light. In some cases, pump electrical issues may trigger the light as well.
on a v-8 engine 1 cyl head sticks out farther than the other to the front of the vehicle. that is bank one.
A plugged Fuel Filter or poorly functioning Fuel Pump can set the P0171 code. The computer hears (accurately) from the Oxygen Sensor that the Fuel Mixture is too lean so the computer keeps increasing the amount of fuel being delivered into the combustion chambers.
If you`ve ever experienced a fuel pump failure, you`ve likely seen some of the problems that a worn-out fuel rail sensor will cause. Some fuel rail sensor failure symptoms include a drop in performance, rough idling or running, and difficulty starting the car. In some cases, it may also send your BMW into limp mode.
The O2 sensors are mounted in the exhaust system of the car, with Sensor 1 located before the catalytic convertor. Sensor 2 is mounted in the exhaust stream and is located after the catalytic convertor.
Sensor 2 on the Bank 1 side means that it is located on the side of the engine that contains the #1 cylinder. The sensor 1 is tasked with reading the amount of oxygen in the exhaust system and then emitting a voltage measurement between 0.1 and 0.9 volts.
The P0156 code sets when Sensor 2 on the Bank 2 side of the engine is malfunctioning. If the oxygen sensor remains at a low voltage for an extended period, or just simply ceases to emit readings, the P0156 code will be triggered by the ECM.
Diagnostic trouble code P0137 is defined as “O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2).” It indicates a low voltage in the downstream oxygen sensor circuit (rear O2 sensor on Bank 1) — which measures the air fuel ratio from the catalytic converter.
Bad Fuel Pump, Fuel Pressure Sensor Can Trigger `Check Engine` Light, P0087 Code. Your car`s “Check Engine” or “Service Engine Soon” light can flash on for more than 1,400 different reasons.
To confirm that your pump has failed, check the pressure in your fuel lines with a fuel pressure gauge; if it reads zero, then your pump is likely dead. You can also check your car`s fuse box; a blown fuel pump fuse is another reliable symptom of a failed pump.

check engine light O2 sensor already replaced same codes still popping up after replacing old O2 sensor
ANSWER : Hi there. What you received from the parts store was a code retrieval, not a diagnostic. The codes are set when a fault is detected against normal operating parameter. The computer does not know what caused the fault, only that the fault meets the criteria for this code to set. There could be a problem in the wire harness, converter, or the ECM. The code and data are needed to properly assess the direction that a diagnosis needs. I strongly suggest having a qualified technician perform an inspection to avoid replacing unnecessary parts. Your Mechanic has several available technicians that can assist you with a check engine light inspection.

p0011 code, check engine light one, changed bank 1 vvt solenoid and check engine light still on?
ANSWER : The P0011 code is typically caused by oil issues with the car. I would particularly make sure the engine oil level is not low. The VVT solenoid relies on proper oil levels to do their job. If they don’t have enough oil, they won’t work. You can have a mobile technician from YourMechanic visit your home or office to inspect the Check Engine Light for you. If you follow through with a repair with us you will be reimbursed for the cost of inspection.

Bank 2 Sensor 1 PA03(?) code. Range performance issue?
ANSWER : Hello. The code you have provided is not a valid automotive error code that I recognize. Based on your context I think it may be possible that there is an issue with the signal range of one of your oxygen sensors. If you’ve replaced the sensors then perhaps the issue may be with the wiring. I would carefully examine the wiring to the oxygen sensors, as well as the connector and contacts for any signs of damage, wear, or corrosion. If the sensors and wiring all check out then it may be possible that the issue is with the computer.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON
ANSWER : The on board diagnostic (OBD) sets a pending code each time the ECU detects a problem. It confirms the code if it sees the same problem twice. So you’re really only dealing with the two codes : P0016 and 17.These codes are telling you that the timing between the crankshaft and the camshaft are off on Bank 1 (the driver’s side) cylinder bank. This could be a sensor error, a problem in the reluctor ring on the harmonic balancer, or a timing chain problem. Without doing a thorough diagnosis, it’s impossible to say what parts specifically need to be replaced. If you contact Your Mechanic, they can send a technician to your home or office to investigate the codes on you Mercedes and then let you know what it will take to fix it.

O2 sensors changed, but check engine light still showing code after clearing it I checked fuse. Wires are good and used Denso OE.
ANSWER : Depending on what the code was for will determine if the oxygen sensor was to be replaced. If the conditions were for a rich or lean mixture and it said oxygen sensor, then the spark plugs and wires could need replaced if its a rich reading or the fuel injectors could be clogged or not working if its a lean mixture. If the code said that the oxygen sensor was bad, then check the harness and see if there is a break in the wiring or a short to ground in the wiring from the oxygen sensor to the main harness. If you need further assistance with your check engine light being on, then seek out a professional, such as one from Your Mechanic, to help you.

Check Engine Light is on and Autozone read: Trouble Code P0138 O2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2 High Voltage
ANSWER : Hello. If it has a code for an oxygen sensor then that may be the issue. The thing about the oxygen sensors though is that they can give a false reading if there is something else going on with the engine.

I usually install a scan tool and see how the sensor is reading as that can tell me if the sensor is failing or if there is another issue with it. If the sensor looks like it is reading improperly then I replace it.

If it seems to be fine then it may be a weak fuel pump, or a misfire issue. It can also be another sensor that is causing it to read like this.

If you are planning on having this rough running condition checked out, consider YourMechanic, as a certified mechanic can come to your home or office to diagnose why it is running rough and why the engine light is on.

Service engine warning, MAF code and O2 sensor code, along with check suspension light are turned on
ANSWER : Hello, it sounds like you have quite a few things going on. I am going to do my best to break them down for you.

First if the engine is very loud when idling and the belt has already been replaced, there may be an issue with the tensioner or idler pulley.
Next, the Navigator is known for needing service to the air suspension system as it gets up in miles, the most common causes of these are the air struts themselves have failed, or one of the air lines has a leak.
Lastly, if the O2 sensor and MAF are continually coming back after the sensors have been replaced, the most common cause would be either an exhaust leak or a vacuum leak.

Qualified technicians such as the ones at YourMechanic will be able to diagnose these issues and recommend the best path to repair, starting with a diagnosis of your warning lights.
