2012 fusion ddamage front pass side trunk shifted to the drivers side. Is this possible

Got hit on the front passenger side damaged hood, quarter panel, tire rim,and bumper. Took out headlights too. My trunk also shifted to the drivers side. There is a 1/2 " gap on the passenfer side. The ins company says it isnt.possible. They also said it was because the left side of the trink had been previously repaired in 2012 and done badly. I think the unibody twisted from the impact. I am fighting the insurance company on this. The trunk sat straight before the wreck and didnt after. I need to know if it is possible for this to happen.
