Vibration on startup

My vehicles vibrates noticeably for about 20-30 seconds after I start it. After that the vehicle runs smoothly until it fully cools down and I start it up again. Car is only 3 years old with 35k miles, would figure this would be too early for a tuneup but maybe not. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

My car has 35000 miles.
My car has a manual transmission.

Experienced mechanics share their insights in answering this question :
Hi there. From the description you have given, a tune-up may be in order. Short trip driving is harder on the engine, than long trip driving. Based on the low mileage, it is not due for the tune-up according to the maintenance schedule.

It could be, the spark plugs are slightly fouled from short trip driving. Apparently the vehicle’s computer is not recognizing the fault, with no mention of a Check Engine Light on. It could be, a dirty idle air control valve is not raising the engine’s RPM up, to provide a smooth idle upon start-up cold.

I recommend having your vehicle’s vibration inspected be inspected by a certified technician, such as one from YourMechanic.

How to Identify and Fix Common car Problems ?

Any unusual shaking or vibrating forces coming from the engine is cause for concern. It could be something as simple as old spark plugs producing an uneven power delivery, it could be something serious like worn or broken engine mounts, or it could be even more serious in the case of internal engine damage.
Some Ford Focus vehicles may exhibit an excessive engine vibration when idle. The vibration is most noticeable when the transmission is engaged in reverse. This condition may be caused by small stones, road debris, ice or snow packed/lodged in the rear engine roll restrictor.
Many possible faults can cause your 2013 Ford Focus to vibrate upon acceleration. From your description, it sounds like you are describing an engine misfire. Misfires can be caused by many issues, but the most common are spark plugs, coil, fuel pump, fuel injectors, MAF sensor, vacuum leaks, or a wiring harness fault.
This problem is caused by a software issue with the 2014 Focus`s powertrain module. The transmission control module and the engine control unit is receiving the wrong inputs, so it causes the transmission to stall and jerk.
The most prevalent cause of vibration is problems with your wheels or tires. The potential problems include improper wheel and tire balance, uneven tire wear, separated tire tread, out of round tires, damaged wheels and even loose lug nuts.
The shaking during the start-up problem points to a loose part or combustion problems. Either the engine mounts are loose, or the fuel pressure is low. Worn-out spark plug and low coolant temperature can also be the cause. The shaking can be unnerving, and even though it stops after some time, it needs checking.
The Ignition System

The shaking occurs as your truck`s engine struggles to remain running while at idle. A few common causes within the ignition system are: Engine Misfires. Faulty Spark Plugs.

The most common reasons a Ford Focus has a rattling noise are the ball joints, struts or strut mount, or a problem with the sway bar links. Search our network of RepairPal Certified shops near you to speak with a technician about your issue. Oops! We got lost!
As such, the 2013 Ford Focus stands as one of the best small cars you can buy. All the boxes are checked here, as the Focus offers eye-catching styling, sedan or hatchback body styles, a comfortable and well-trimmed cabin, refined performance, high fuel economy and a wealth of available convenience features.
An engine that is hesitating to accelerate is most likely dealing with a fuel/air mixture that is too lean. Engine`s that are running inefficiently will begin to show signs like hesitation which will only become worse over time.
Is it something you should get looked at? The short answer is, Yes! A shaking or rocking sensation from your truck`s engine compartment, plus engine misfires is an indication that a problem is brewing. It may be as simple as replacing your spark plugs, but it also may be more involved than that.

I have a 2011 Ford Focus it vibrates when I turn wheel quiet it down
ANSWER : When the steering is turned the power steering pressure switch will activate and signal the computer to increase engine speed. If you can increase engine speed just a little and it causes the engine to smooth out then you may need to have the throttle body cleaned and the mass air flow sensor cleaned to increase the idle a little. Check the engine motor mounts to see if they need to be replaced due to being torn or worn out.

My car started idleing rough, vibrations soon as start car, vibrations soon as I accelerate, vibrations, rough idle bad
ANSWER : This sound like you may be having an engine misfire. Have the system checked and scanned to see if codes are present for an engine misfire. If it is, then a mechanic can check to see if a coil or spark plug has failed. You may have oil leaks in the valve cover seals that has caused the ignition to short out in the spark plug holes. A repair of your valve cover gaskets may be necessary, along with the other components that I’ve mentioned. I’d recommend having the vehicle looked at by a qualified technician who will be able to diagnose these misfiring symptoms and fix it accordingly.
