Suspension problems with car.

My problem looks like a suspension problem. The front body of the car has dropped. I can drive it, but the wheels touch the body when I turn. Two parts fell off. They look like medium-sized rings.
Experienced mechanics share their insights in answering this question :
If your front suspension suddenly fell to the ground then something broke on the suspension. You either have a coil spring or possibly a ball joint that needs to be replaced. The vehicle would need to be put in the air to see what has actually broke. I have seen more ball joints break on this car than any other suspension part. You should get some help from a certified mechanic, like one from YourMechanic, that knows what to look for while they are under the vehicle.

One of the most common Mercedes air suspension problems is a leaking air strut. As AIRMATIC systems start to age, the rubber around the strut can become brittle, cracked, or punctured. The seals and gaskets around the struts and the air lines can also wear out and cause a leak.
The most common reasons a Mercedes-Benz C230 shakes when braking are bad brake rotors, bad brake pads, or a bad wheel bearing. Search our network of RepairPal Certified shops near you to speak with a technician about your issue.
Lowering the suspension too low can lead to a variety of negative impacts on your Mercedes that include but aren`t limited to: Bottoming out- with your vehicle lower to the road, it`s easier for it to hit the road and also have trouble going over speed bumps or going through dips.
Most new Mercedes-Benz vehicles usually come standard with steel-spring suspension. It is the most common type of suspension in passenger and commercial vehicles because it is inexpensive, simple, and has been known to outlive the cars it is put in.
When air suspension fails, you`ll know it. The most likely first symptoms are a lower, sagging ride height, or the selectable ride settings that no longer function. Other symptoms include a rougher, noisier ride, and sloppy handling through corners and over bumps.
Poor wheel alignment – this can cause damage to your tires and the suspension system, and make it hard to control your vehicle. A symptom of this includes your vehicle pulling to one side while driving. Bad shocks or struts – shocks and struts can break down and leak over time, which can decrease their efficiency.
The most prevalent cause of vibration is problems with your wheels or tires. The potential problems include improper wheel and tire balance, uneven tire wear, separated tire tread, out of round tires, damaged wheels and even loose lug nuts.
Along with faulty spark plugs, a build-up of dirt and grime is the likely cause of cars stuttering when idle. A clogged filter or fuel injection system can starve your engine of fuel or oxygen, causing your car to judder and shake.
While a worn suspension system doesn`t directly break the engine down, issues that interfere with the vehicle as a whole causes your engine to work harder.
If a part of your suspension fails, the vehicle may be more likely to “wander” around instead of tracking in a straight line, or feel loose as you steer. This can be caused by other issues, too, such as poor steering alignment, which is possible on your vehicle even if the suspension is in great shape.
Struts and shocks may need to be replaced anywhere between 50k and 100k miles.
An air suspension is one the most comfortable and load bearing suspensions which is why they are used on most top of the line luxury and sports cars.
On average, an air suspension part should be replaced between 6 to 10 years or between 90.000 to 160.000 kilometers because the rubber will have dried out. Off-road use also influences how often the replacement should be done. Over this time, the rubber bladder dries out, and cracks appear around the bottom piston.
Is Air Suspension Good For Daily Driving? A common question we receive here at AccuAir is: “will air suspension be good for daily driving?” The simple answer is yes. Air suspension has been proven to be a great addition to vehicles for daily driving if installed and maintained correctly.
Some common signs that your suspension system needs a little TLC are: Continued bouncing after hitting bumps or a dipping when braking. A drifting or pulling to one side when turning corners. One side of the parked car sitting lower than the other side.
Are Mercedes Benz airmatic suspensions reliable or prone to frequent issues? Since at least 2007 they have been very reliable. I drove about 120,000 miles on my 2007 W221 S550 with Airmatic when I replaced the air shocks because of mechanical wear at the ball joints. The bladders were fine.
Air springs normally last 80,000 to 100,000 miles. Over this time, the rubber bladder dries out, and cracks appear around the bottom piston.

Battery and oil light come on when trying to start car, take keys out try again car starts no problem and lights go away
ANSWER : Of course, don’t switch gears without being fully stopped, unless your Owner’s Manual or the manufacturer has alternative advice. However, the gear shift issue has no relation to the no-start problem you are describing. Inasmuch as you only have 6,000 miles on the car, the "constant on and off" that you believe has occurred is meaningless in comparison to the expected total vehicle service life. That is, assume what you perceive as "constant on and off", during merely 6,000 miles, might be equivalent to using the car "normally" for three years. A new car should be trouble free for at least 5 years, unless there is a defect, so your "constant on and off" is not a causal factor for any fault on the vehicle. What you might have is a defect in the ignition switch, or perhaps the immobilizer system, but if the problem is not in the switch itself, clearly there is an electrical problem.

If your vehicle is under warranty, by law the dealer MUST repair the issue you are describing within a prescribed time frame and number of "attempts", otherwise the dealer will run afoul of Federal and state Lemon Laws that give you very specific rights, and recourse (contact an Attorney; we are Mechanics, NOT attorneys). Consequently, if the vehicle is still under warranty, to save yourself money do be sure to seek a resolution from the dealer. If the vehicle is not under warranty, obviously a certified Mechanic from YourMechanic could identify the electrical fault and resolve this for you. If you want to go that route, please simply request a no start diagnostic -electrical system and the responding certified mechanic will get this taken care of for you. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic as we are always here to help you.

Replaced alternator on car 2 times each time shows it’s charging 14v let car run for a little bit then test drive and car voltage
ANSWER : There are reports that the replacement alternators will not communicate with the engine computer and will not charge correctly. I recommend using only the manufacturer approved replacement part. It can be new or remanufactured but approved for use in the vehicle. Some lower cost alternators on the aftermarket will have charging problems since they will not communicate with the ECM on the vehicle and will stop charging.

My car has a fuel injector problem, how can I free myself from this problem?
ANSWER : Hi there:

In most cases, the symptoms you’re describing are related to fuel delivery problems; with components such as the Mass Airflow Sensor, TPS (Throttle Position Sensor), or the throttle body itself being damaged, having faulty connections or simply being dirty and need to be cleaned. The only way to know for certain is to have a certified technician, like one from YourMechanic, complete a Check Engine Light inspection so they can download any stored error codes that might be an indicator of a problem that hasn’t showed up yet on the dashboard.

My car is Renault megane 2003 model manual, my problem is the car stooped it self in the road light & it cant start now.
ANSWER : Hello and thanks for contacting YourMechanic. There are 3 things that could cause the symptoms that you are currently experiencing. One is the ignition coils getting too hot and failing.

The second is the trigger to the ignition coils could be cutting out. The camshaft and crankshaft sensors are what control the trigger to the ignition coils. If one of the sensors are not responding correctly, then the trigger may get dropped by the computer. The computer would shut down the engine to prevent any problems.

The third problem that could effect this issue is a faulty neutral safety switch on the clutch. Check the harness and wires to the switch on the clutch and see if they are clean and free from corrosion. Make sure that the switch is not binding up or sticking. I recommend replacing the neutral safety switch, then retesting. If the system continues, then replace the crankshaft and camshaft sensors. If the symptoms are still present, then the computer is locking the trigger out and shutting off the engine. Then you would need to flash or replace the computer. If you would like to have an expert scope this out in person, a qualified professional from YourMechanic can diagnose the stalling issue and let you know exactly what needs repair.

My car will be starting perfect and when the gas tank gets lower it will start having problems .
ANSWER : Based on the information you gave, it sounds like a possible fuel starvation issue, caused by a partially blocked, in-tank fuel filter or a crack in the fuel pump housing. The remedy would be to replace the fuel pump assembly and filter. The overheating may be caused by several things, including a stuck thermostat, faulty water pump, or even a cracked head gasket. I suggest having a certified technician, like one from YourMechanic, inspect the relevant systems to pinpoint the cause of your vehicle’s hard starting issue and overheating problem.

Been having starting problems when car is cold thought it was starter motor. Now car sometimes does not accelerate when i hit gas
ANSWER : If you suspect the starter motor, I would never recommend replacing a part such as this from the junk yard. If the vehicle is starting fine now and acceleration is the only problem, it is possible that a trouble code may have been thrown to set a check engine light. I would recommend having the codes pulled by a qualified professional to aid in the diagnosis of this issue. Once any trouble codes are found, the technician will be more clear on what is causing this issue. Consider YourMechanic as a check engine light inspection can be performed at your home or office.
