Hi there. Most of the time this type of problem is caused by an electrical short in the turn signal switch or steering column. I wouldn’t say this is a very simple fix, due to the fact that locating the short is the most difficult part of the repair. It’s probably best to have a professional mobile mechanic come to your location and complete an electrical problems inspection, so they can isolate the source of the short and recommend the right repairs.

Your turn signal and high beams are working on the same switch. If you push the switch up and down, it activates the turn signals. If you move the switch in towards you, it activates the high beams. What happens is the lock inside the switch wears out and makes the contacts to cross when turning on the turn signal.
Most common Buick Rendezvous problem: engine overheating

is prone to erratic shifting, engine overheating, a misfiring engine, and even a loss of power. If a loud squealing or rattling is coming from your engine—or if your Check Engine light is on—bring your car to a mechanic.

Your Guide to 2007 Buick Rendezvous Scheduled Maintenance

You want your Buick Rendezvous to last as long as possible. With proactive maintenance, your Rendezvous has a good chance of hitting 200,000 miles or more.

Generally this is something caused by the flasher relay going bad. This is a small relay that allows the lights to flash based upon current flow and a resistor inside that causes them to flash.
A bad headlight relay is among the more common reasons we see for low beam headlights not working while the high beams do. You see, the low and high beams each have their own relay, which is essentially an electrical switch. Like fuses, sometimes relays go bad.
It was Buick`s first truck in its lineup since 1923, and the Rendezvous was billed as a combination of the best attributes of a minivan (large cargo capacity, seating for up to seven), a luxury automobile (ride, handling, smoothness) and a sport utility vehicle (truck styling and available all wheel drive).
Buick is one of the most reliable domestic brands, even with its small model line. Buick offers only four different SUVs: The Enclave, Encore, Encore GX, and Envision. The company stopped producing sedans a few years ago in a general effort to focus on more family-based crossover vehicles.
The most common reasons a Buick Rendezvous is overheating are a coolant leak (water pump, radiator, hose etc.), the radiator fan, or a failed thermostat. Coolant leak (water pump, radiator, hose etc.)
The estimated cost to maintain and repair a Buick Rendezvous ranges from $95 to $7804, with an average of $316.
Buick vehicles have an average lifespan of up to 200,000 miles. Buick drivers report that their vehicles last between 150,000 and 200,000 miles. That second number, however, should not be regarded as a firm deadline!
Average engine lifespan

For some time, the average lifespan of a car`s engine was eight years, or 150,000 miles. New designs, better technology and improved service standards in recent years have increased this average life expectancy to about 200,000 miles, or about 10 years.

The 3.5-liter V-6 develops 196 horsepower and employs a four-speed automatic transmission.
System mechanism

A front-mounted camera located in the upper-portion of the windshield detects lights from oncoming and leading vehicles. Based on light level sensing, the system will switch the headlight setting from high to low beam automatically.

Headlight Fuse or Relay

If a headlight fuse blows, it could cause the headlights to stop working. Most headlight systems are also designed with a relay that switches the power between low beam and high beam headlights. If this relay goes bad, it could allow power to the high beams, but not the low beams.

Chrysler car, replaced turn signal switch and flasher relay and turn signals still do not come on either right or left, no turn si
ANSWER : Hello, thank you for writing in. If the electrical components are all working individually, then the issue is likely relating to the wiring between them. The best way to trace the issue is with a voltmeter. In doing so you start with the power supply starting at the fuse box and work your way down the circuit. When you find where the voltage cuts off, you will have found the wire or component that has failed. You will want a wiring circuit to help you through this process. Often when after market components have been installed around the wiring it can become damaged. Double check any of these areas. The switch and steering column will both need to be tested as well. My headlights are not working correctly – 1996 Chevrolet Blazer
ANSWER : Hi there. Most of the time this is caused by a bad headlamp switch. When the switch fails, it will cause this to occur. If the switch is fine, then it may have an issue with the headlamp relay. I typically take my voltage meter and test the circuit starting at the headlamps until I find where the voltage is being lost.

2007 Mustang Low-Beam headlight on only one side only comes on for 10 seconds then go outs, however high beams work fine!?!?
ANSWER : Hey there, thanks for writing in about your 2007 Mustang. The low beam circuit is monitored by the the Smart Junction Box. It’s the fuse box in the right kick panel. Basically what this means is if the resistance, or the current flow in the circuit is not within the specified range, it will turn off the power to it. That’s why you won’t find a fuse for the low beams. It will re-check the circuit every time the ignition key is cycled. The circuit flows from the SJB through the fuse box under the hood, and then to the headlights. Inspect as much of the wiring as you can. Especially where it might have been tampered with for the HID lights. If there is a short to power or ground, or too much or not enough resistance, it will turn off the power. This is not the case with your fog lamps and high beams. They are powered by a relay that is fused, and the circuit is not monitored. It will simply blow a fuse if there’s a problem.
