Blind Spot Detection/Cross Traffic Warning.

I recently replaced my side view mirror on my F150 after I cracked it pulling into my garage. There was no other damage on my truck at the time. While the mirror was broken, the BLIS and xtraffic systems were giving me a warning on my dash. I figured once I replaced the mirror they would go away, but they haven't. The camera is picking up from the mirror as it now shows that side of the truck, and I can adjust the mirror, so I know it has power. Any suggestions on what to do next?

Hi there. Try removing the battery cables from the car battery and let the computer (ECM) reset. This will clear any messages on the vehicle. Then the computer will relearn the information from the mirror. If the mirror is working correctly, then the message will not appear. If the message comes back on, then there could be a wiring issue in the door or in the cab. If you need further assistance with your mirror message, then seek out a professional, such as one from Your Mechanic, to help you.

BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) can alert you to a vehicle detected alongside and difficult to see in a blind spot. 10 The system uses radar sensors on both sides near the rear of the vehicle. When a vehicle is detected in your blind spot, you are alerted with an indicator light in the sideview mirror.
Innovative Driver-Assist Features

Standard features on every new F-150 include Automatic Emergency Braking and Automatic High Beams. Beginning at the Ford F-150 XLT level, additional standard safety features include Active Lane Control, Reverse Automatic Emergency Braking, and Blind Spot Monitors.

The sensors are inside the brake lamp on both sides of your vehicle. Note: Keep the sensors free from snow, ice and large accumulations of dirt. Note: Do not cover the sensors with bumper stickers, repair compound or other objects.
BLIS and Cross Traffic Alert use radar sensors, which are located behind the rear bumper fascia on each side of your vehicle. Ensure that these areas are clear of mud, snow and bumper stickers, since these obstructions can cause degraded performance.
Tow Your Trailer with Confidence

Available BLIS® with Trailer Coverage scans the blind spots of not only the truck you`re driving but also the conventional trailer you`re towing. 10.

Yes, Ford has a blind spot monitoring system, and it comes standard on all newer models.
The sensors are behind the rear bumper on both sides of your vehicle. Note: Keep the sensors free from snow, ice and large accumulations of dirt. Note: Do not cover the sensors with bumper stickers, repair compound or other objects.
The system uses ultrasonic or radar sensors on the side and rear of the car. Like a bat in nature, ultrasonic sensors use soundwaves to detect objects in their surroundings. These sensors monitor nearby lanes and determine when other vehicles approach or enter your blind spot.
“Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning is a driving assistance system that informs the driver if another vehicle is approaching from either direction when the vehicle is in reverse and is backing out of a parking space.”
It`s an electronic stability system that helps with navigation through harsh road conditions, including gravel, ice, dry pavement, and snow. It has control features that help to increase vehicle stability as well as traction.
BLIS can alert you when a vehicle enters the blind spot zone. Cross-Traffic Alert warns of traffic approaching from the sides when the vehicle is in Reverse (R), such as slowly backing out of a parking space or driveway.
Integrated Blind Spot mirrors can help alert you to vehicles entering your blind spots that you might otherwise miss. If your vehicle is equipped with the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®), the feature will automatically turn on when you start your vehicle.
What the P0151 code means. P0151 is the OBD-II generic code indicating the O2 sensor for bank 2 sensor 1 fails to increase the voltage output above . 21 volts, indicating excessive oxygen in the exhaust.
Your engine control unit is responsible for making sure your F150 properly adjusts fuel and ignition levels so that your engine performs optimally. When you`re unable to start your pickup for seemingly no reason and notice a dramatic drop in fuel economy, it`s time for a new F150 engine control computer at AutoZone.
Lane-Keeping Aid applies steering torque to help direct you back to the center of the lane. Lane-Keeping Alert warns you through steering wheel vibrations that simulate driving over a rumble strip. Activate either the Aid or Alert mode, or both.
Currently, there are basically two types of blind-spot monitoring systems. The less-intrusive system simply provides an alert. The more intrusive system pairs the alert with steering assistance.
The manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor, is located on or around the intake manifold, and provides constant information concerning the amount of pressure inside the intake manifold.
Sensors located in the front of your vehicle detect how close you are to the vehicle ahead, so that you can apply brakes or swerve in time.
Generally located near the exhaust manifold, the O2 or oxygen sensor measures the oxygen level in your exhaust and compares it to the oxygen in the air around your car. This information is then used to determine whether your engine is running a rich fuel ratio or a lean one.
In reality, many blind-spot detection systems do not reliably detect cyclists. Even more alarming, 25% of drivers using blind-spot detection systems rely solely on these systems instead of performing visual checks for approaching traffic.
If the maximum speed is breached, an alert is sent via your preferred notification method; email, text message and/or push. You can also set your preferences to display a pop-up notification in the vehicle itself to remind your secondary driver when they have exceeded the established speed threshold.
Add a front camera! Adding a front camera to your Ford® 8″ SYNC 4 Factory Display on your 2021-2022 F150 could never be simpler! – see application section for details. This CMOS license plate mounted camera kit will allow you to integrate front view safety to your factory SYNC 4 8″ display.
Based on the type of system, it can be really easy or super difficult to install front parking sensors on your car. To install aftermarket front parking sensors, you will need to drill holes into the front bumper, install the sensors and then route the wiring properly.
Connect the VSS to a power drill so you can simulate the rotation of the vehicle`s transmission and read the multimeter to see if the voltage increases as the speed increases to check if the sensor is working properly.

low washer fluid warning light and blind spot indicator off
ANSWER : Hello there, you are correct. The washer fluid level and the blind spot indicator systems are related. The system shuts off when either the trunk is open or the washer fluid is low. If you have filled the washer fluid reservoir and the light is still on then there are a few possible causes.

Most common would be the fluid level sensor or a float that has become stuck. After the washer fluid fault has been repaired the blind spot system should work properly. If you need you decide to get this fixed, consider enlisting a qualified technician who will be able to diagnose your fluid warning light and blind spot system, then perform any repairs required.

My Accord gives out a "Charging system failure" warning. I drove home about 15 miles and then parked my car. After about 3 hours,
ANSWER : Hi there. On a new Honda Accord, the Charging System Failure warning light typically indicates a problem with the battery, alternator or other component inside the charging system of your vehicle. However, with less than 10,000 miles, this is most likely an electrical glitch or stored error code that was triggered. Since your car is "new", I would recommend contacting your Honda dealership first, to tell them about this warning light and ask them how they wish to handle this issue; as it should be covered under warranty. If they can’t help you, please set up a warning light inspection, and one of our mobile mechanics can come to your location and determine why this light came on.

Battery warning popped up for Hyundai Accent 200
ANSWER : This may be a sign of a weak battery, a failing voltage regulator or failing alternator. As you may know, the alternator is responsible for charging the battery while the engine runs by generating amperage and recharging the battery while the engine turns the alternator. The voltage regulator is a unit that regulates the charging of the battery by the alternator and maintaining a certain amperage while the engine runs. When the alternator is not working properly, this may result in the battery quickly losing charge and the car losing all power as you have described. You may also notice a whining sound as a result of the bearings inside the alternator begin to fail. I would recommend having an expert from YourMechanic come to your location to diagnose and inspect your charging system.

What is the difference between engine oil warning light and another warning light just like that but with waves under the sign? 1996 Mitsubishi Galant
ANSWER : Hello- the warning light you mention is a " low coolant" indicator. Once the engine is cool – check your coolant reservoir and/or cooling system for proper fluid level. Since you seem to have lost fluid, I would recommend an inspection of the cooling system by a mobile, professional mechanic, such as one from YourMechanic, who will come to your location, diagnose this problem, give you an accurate assessment of damage and cost estimate for repairs.

What Are Car Blind Spots?
ANSWER : Blind spots are areas to the side and the rear of your vehicle, where your vision is obstructed so that you cannot see any vehicles that are close to you. These areas are not visible in your sideview mirrors or your rear view mirror. Blind spots are not seen directly unless you turn your head and look over your shoulder.

Some drivers add convex (wide angle) mirrors to either the side view mirrors or the rear view mirror, or both, so that they have a larger field of vision which reduces the blind spot. While these additional mirrors add some benefit to the driver, when it comes to your safety, there is no replacement for looking with your own two eyes at the traffic around you.

If you run into any problems, a certified technician can assist with replacing your door or rearview mirrors in order to maintain your driving visibility.

What does it mean if the message center shows a warning saying “Cross traffic system fault?”
ANSWER : The Cross Traffic Alert system on your car (if equipped) provides important safety when backing out of a parking space. This system is supposed to detect objects to the rear and sides of the vehicle (cross traffic coming down the lane in a parking lot, for instance). It will alert you to help prevent a potential accident. If you see a warning in the message center saying “Cross traffic system fault,” it means that the computer has detected an error in the system, and that it is no longer turned on. You’ll need to have the car inspected as soon as possible. In the meantime, drive carefully and check behind you anytime you back out of a parking spot.

Tip

If the warning says “Cross traffic not available,” it means that the system isn’t enabled and you’ll need to activate it.

How do you activate the Blind Spot Information system (BLIS)?
ANSWER : If your car is equipped with the Blind Spot Information system (BLIS), you have an important safety tool at your disposal. This system is designed to help you monitor your car’s blind spots for safer driving at all times. It is on by default, but you can turn it off (or back on again if it’s been disabled). Here’s how to do that:

Press the Info button until you see “Blind Spot.”
Press the Reset button to turn the BLIS off.
Press the Reset button again to turn the system back on.

Tip

While you can turn the system off, it’s highly recommended that you leave it on unless there’s a compelling reason to deactivate it.
