Auxilliary plug not working

My auxilliary plug is not working. I have to plug in my cord and push it to the side to get it to work.
Experienced mechanics share their insights in answering this question :
I would try plugging the chord in another plug just to make sure it is not the chord. The plugs are rather simple. The sides are the ground and only the very center piece at the very back of the plug has power. If the plug is loose this could lead to connection issues. But in your case because the whole plug body is ground and you can get it to work if you wiggle it around, it sounds like it might be your cable not making good contact.

How to Identify and Fix Common car Problems ?

Check to make sure the input device, like your phone, is working properly. You may want to try the aux with a different input device, like your computer, if possible. Try using a different aux cable. Use a can of compressed air to clean out the aux port.
AUX 3.5mm cable car audio input: Just plug the device into the extension port of the Honda Civic 2008 factory car stereo, connect it to your favorite MP3 player, iPod, iPhone, Android device or smartphone, and hear the CD quality music right away.
If the AUX port just loses you can fix it by yourself and if you want to replace you can put another one too. AUX port is connected with different springs and if one is missing off the disconnected port didn`t work. We will explain to you how to fix the auxiliary port in the car.
Auxiliary Input Jack

Open the AUX cover. 2. Insert the miniplug attached to the audio device into the jack. The audio system switches to AUX mode.

Normally, yes. The standard fuse panel inside the passenger compartment will have a fuse listed as auxiliary power or cigarette lighter.
There is an auxiliary input mounted in the console, right next to a power point. The premium stereo in the Accord EX-L is barely above average. It uses two tweeters, four mids, and a subwoofer, a fairly typical configuration for today`s cars.
It wasn`t until 2007–2008 that most new head units came with them. Now it`s rare to find one without an aux connection.
The part itself is relatively cheap, costing around $79.99 at the high end. But unless you have the skills and equipment necessary, you will likely end up spending closer to $200 on a professional installation.
Restart your device and your car. Make sure that your device is unlocked and on the Home screen. If possible, try to connect using another cable or USB port. Check the manual that came with your car to learn how to connect an Apple device.
Check for debris in the headphone port on your iPhone or iPad. Check your headphone cable, connector, remote, and earbuds for damage, like wear or breakage. Look for debris on the meshes in each earbud. To remove debris, gently brush all openings with a small, soft-bristled brush that`s clean and dry.

Just replaced head gasket, changed crack sensor new plugs. The check engine light is on, but dim, the only other light that the dash is a normal battery indicator. The fuel pump is not running when switch is turned on, the power windows don’t work, it turns over but not firing. It’s like only one part of the system is working. Also the heater fans work even if the switch is off.
ANSWER : I would first look at the diagnostic trouble codes. Those codes are available because the check engine light is on. If the fuel pump is not running (momentarily) at key on, that fault alone will prevent the car from starting as there will be no fuel pressure. Pump output and pressure can be directly tested and you can also check for electrical power to the pump. To find out why the engine will not run, the recommended diagnostic is a no start diagnostic. If you request that service, the responding certified mechanic will get this taken care of for you. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic as we are always here to help you.

Windshield wipers stopped working. They’ll suddenly stop working then suddenly start working again. Has been happening for a week.
ANSWER : The problem you are describing likely stems from an intermittent electrical fault in the wiper circuit. The windshield wiper system uses a small electric motor to move the wiper arms that you see on the windshield. That electric motor is controlled through a switch, relay, fuse, and wiring. One, or more, of those electrical components has failed although it is also possible that the mechanical arms are binding (seized, if the lubricant has dried out) thus causing the electric circuit to the motor to overload. Regardless of the underlying fault, if you request a non functioning wiper diagnostic/repair, the responding certified mechanic will get this taken care of for you. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic as we are always here to help you.

My dash board don’t work my front light work when I change my light into high beam and my back window won’t go down
ANSWER : As unfortunate as it is, your vehicle would be considered flood damaged. Diagnosing electrical problems in a flood damaged vehicle is nearly impossible. This would take many hours or even days to determine which wiring harnesses and circuits have been affected. Then nearly all of the wiring under the dash would likely require replacement as well as many sensors and switches. On a BMW vehicle, the amount of wires and switches are likely more than that of a lower end vehicle. Due to the inefficiency in cost, you would likely be able to purchase another BMW like yours for less than what it would cost to fix your car. Many insurance companies would consider this type of damage to total out the vehicle unfortuantely.

My AC does not always work. If I fiddle with the blower knob I can ususally get it to work on the lowest setting.
ANSWER : Hi There,
It sounds like you may have a faulty blower motor resistor. The highest speed setting may still work because in most cars in the highest fan speed settings the current bypasses the blower motor resistor. In some cars, if the resistor is failed, the fan may stop working completely. Another reason a blower motor resistor may fail is when the blower motor has a mechanical problem or when a foreign object jams the blower motor fan blade and prevents it from spinning freely. This leads to increased current through the resistor and causes it to overheat and fail. I would suggest having an expert from YourMechanic come to your location to diagnose your system to determine what may be causing the fan not to work properly.

Plug broken. Safe for replacement? Pins are different
ANSWER : Although, I am not an electronics expert by any means, there are some basic electricity concepts that should apply in this case. First we need to identify what the ratings on the plug pertain to:

Amp – an ampere is the unit for measuring electricity. The accepted standard unit used for measuring how fast an electric current flows.

Volts – Electrical pressure is measured in Volts. How difficult it is to move electrons through a circuit is called resistance. Electrical resistance is measured in Ohms.

Watt – the basic unit of electric, mechanical, or thermal power in the SI and MKS systems, equal to one joule per second or 10 ergs per second (of a horsepower): for electric power it is equal to one volt-ampere.

Electricity is the flow of electrons through a conductor like a wire. The rate at which electricity flows is measured as an electric current. The electric current is measured in amps. What makes the current flow? In your case, the power cord (2.5v) is what creates the pressure to push the current through the power cord. The pressure is the voltage. If the pins on the plug are the same, this plug should work. The only question is the black pin on the top which may be purposely insulated for some reason. This may be worth looking into in case there is a necessity for this based upon the Sony Vaio manufacturer specs. Outside of the black insulated pin, everything else should work just the same. I would suggest looking into the insulated black pin however, before using this cord long term as it may protect against things like the cord overheating when charging, etc.

Dash, Tail/brake, dome, trunk, glovebox, and door lights won’t work, dash doing weird things.
ANSWER : Hi there. Sure would appear a lot is going on electrically all at once. This could be, a problem in the PDC (power distribution center). The PDC is typically located under the hood and contains numerous fuses and relays. I don’t believe any one fuse will resolve all of the electrical issues. There is a possibility, it is not a power supply issue. It may be, the result of a poor electrical ground common to the inoperative components. Proper circuit testing should be performed. This would confirm the cause of multiple electrical failures. I recommend having your vehicle’s electrical problems be diagnosed and repaired by a certified technician, such as one from YourMechanic.
