Hi! Im dealing with this some time now, so first of when i do kick down it goes to 5,5 or 6 rpm and boom check engine light is on and car stops changing gears and shakes, if i switch it off its fine again but engine light stays on for about a day or if i pull out all ecu wires then it does the same thing. If im now kick downing but pushing it hard it goes to 5 rpm and only sometimes switches to next gear if i take of leg from gas for a sec and push it again it goes into next gear and it works fine. mm about year ago w/s stopped working it switches on display but does not switch the automatic t

If your car has a loose TPS connector (wire) or the throttle sensor fails to monitor throttle functioning properly, it will affect the engine performance, and the engine will trigger the Check Engine Light in response.

Because the TP sensor is an input to the control module for various automatic transmission functions (e.g., shift points and torque converter clutch operation), a problem with the sensor can cause transmission performance issues. For example, you might experience harsh or delayed shifting.
The easiest way to reset your throttle position sensor is to unhook the negative cable from your battery for up to five minutes or to remove the fuse for your engine control module.
Cleaning fuel injectors is generally not a do-it-yourself project, but you can clean the throttle body on your vehicle with common tools and specialized spray cleaners. While throttle-body cleaning is good preventative car maintenance, it should also help engine drivability.
The TPS is essentially a potentiometer in a plastic case and it fails due to poor contact of the wiper. This can cause erratic readings or no readings. It is possible that the vehicle may not accelerate and then suddenly accelerate, indicating erratic contact.
The Transmission Range Sensor tells the PCM the position of the transmission shifter. The PCM uses this information to control which gears of the transmission to enable or disable. When the TR sensor fails it can cause wrong gear starts, no upshifts, or what feels like a falling-out-of-gear condition.
It is not safe to drive with a bad throttle position sensor because the car may accelerate on its own without any input.
Within a motorsport engine – or the engine of any vehicle, there is a throttle valve. The throttle valve opens when the accelerator pedal is compressed. A throttle position sensor is used to measure how open the throttle valve is and therefore controls the amount of air which can flow into the engines intake manifold.
The TPS adjustment is very touchy so make sure that you make small adjustments. If the TPS fails to read the proper resistance in any tests then it should be replaced.
The national cost for a throttle position sensor replacement in 2023 is between $115 and $562 with an average of $236.

There is automatic transmission fluid in a manual transmission. Is it okay to leave or do I need manual transmission fluid?

ANSWER : The PCM and TCM that you presently have are incompatible with a manual transmission. The PCM hardware and some engine controls, particularly relating to idle speed and electronic "dashpot", would be different too. ANSWER : Hi there. I’ll try to clarify this for you as it can be a bit confusing. When you replace the standing oil (or oil inside the pan of the transmission) it typically is around 4 quarts of ATF. During a standard transmission oil change, that’s how much fluid is typically used. However, the transmission is comprised of multiple hydraulic lines that have fluid inside them under pressure. This fluid does not "drip" to the pan. It is removed during a transmission flush. The amount of transmission fluid inside these lines, the torque converter and other transmission components equals about another 4 quarts. So, when we complete a transmission fluid service, we are fully flushing all old transmission fluid from the entire unit; which is where we get the 8 quart requirement. It’s always a good idea to have the transmission fluid FLUSHED instead of simply changing 1/2 of the fluid.

Perform a fluid level and condition inspection by having the engine at idle, on a level surface, warmed up engine, and remove the dipstick and cleaning it with a shop towel. Reinsert the dipstick and fully remove to a horizontal position for inspection. Make sure the fluid is not milky, very dark, or has contamination. The level should be in the safe zone marked on the stick.

2013 Ford Focus Transmission Issue. Is it worth keeping the car?

Hello there, I was wondering if I would need to add a manual transmission if I add a twin turbo to my automatic car.
