Problems with the DIC settings and using its features

I'm having issues with the Driver Information Center on my Chevy HHR. I cannot use settings related to engine temperature, oil life, MPG, miles left on a gas tank and the only features that actually work are the outside temperature and mileage. I've tried to reset it by taking the battery out and connecting it again, but it didn't help. Also, all the fuses seem fine. The dealer cannot solve the problem. Do you have any idea how I can fix this?

Buying a Replacement Battery for Chevrolet HHR

The average car battery lasts three to five years. Check your battery regularly and replace it as needed so it doesn`t leave you and your Chevrolet HHR stranded.

There is real purpose behind doing that. Diesel trucks tend to have very high compression engines, which are harder to get started, than a typical gasoline-powered engine. That means more cranking amps are a good thing and two batteries in parallel can provide that extra cranking power.
A P0171 code is set by your vehicle`s powertrain control module (PCM) when it detects that the air-to-fuel ratio of your vehicle is too lean. This means that the PCM is relaying that the engine is receiving too much air into the combustion chamber and not enough fuel.
The P0700 code indicates a problem with the transmission. It should not be ignored, because there can be serious drivability problems now and in the future. The technician should check for all codes present to accurately diagnose the problem.
