I just bought a Mazda CX-5 2016 EU edition. In several days of yous my central display is blank, although everything else seems to be working. Would a hard reset help me?
By hard reset I mean disconnecting the battery and turn the headlights on and holding the foot on the brake pedal for 1 minute.

Is there any other way to reset it?

My car has 200 miles.

Start your engine and turn on your car`s audio system. Turn it off if it asks for “code”. Press and hold the radio button for approximately 40-50 minutes. During this interval, your car`s audio system will ignore the code and start playing music.
See, the Mazda CX-5, particularly the one I drive—the one equipped with a 2.2-liter turbodiesel—uses a large (and heavy) 3SM battery.
Using The Key To Unlock Your Door

The majority of cars now have remote central locking, however, with a flat or dead battery this won`t work and you will be forced to use the key to open the car doors. This doesn`t necessarily mean that you need a new car battery.

Does Mazda have remote start? Absolutely! Developed specifically for the Mazda CX-5 and all other Mazda models, you can remote start your modern Mazda vehicle from the Mazda Mobile Start app.
For as long as either fits in the battery compartment, the CR2025 and CR2032 may be used interchangeably with minimal effect although the CR2032 would probably last slightly longer simply because it has a higher capacity (mAh).
The type of battery you will need is a 3-volt CR2032.
Step 1: Select the “SETTINGS” button from the home screen. Step 2: Scroll until you find the “SYSTEMS” tab. Select it. Step 3: Here you will be able to update your music database and software, either by selecting “OS Version,” “Gracenote Version,” or “Search for Software Updates.”
For example, SiriusXM® is only available on the CX-5 Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve, and Signature trim levels. The more basic CX-5 trim levels (Sport and Touring) don`t come with it. SiriusXM® is available only on the CX-3 Grand Touring trim level, as well.
Turn your car on, but do not start the engine. Turn the radio off. Hold the radio power button down for a few minutes until it resets.
If the manufacturer that built your vehicle offers online code lookup, you typically enter your VIN, the serial number of the radio, and contact information, including phone number and email. The code may be emailed to you for your records.
Turn your car on, but do not start the engine. Turn the radio off. Hold the radio power button down for a few minutes until it resets.
You can reset your car`s radio without the code by turning on the car but not the engine and switching the radio off. Then, hold the radio power button down for a couple of minutes until the reset is achieved.
Press and hold the audio system power button for 5 seconds. A menu may pop up and ask you if you want to reboot the system. If this doesn`t work, turn the vehicle off, open the driver door, close the driver door, and restart the vehicle.

6cd/mp3 player shows cd error with no cd and slots 1 and 2 showing that cd’s are in and no cd’s installed
ANSWER : Hello. We will be happy to assist you. The issue you are having is common with Ford 6-CD radio units of that generation. Usually people attempt a reset by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery for an hour or so. Which will reset the vehicle’s electrical system. However that rarely gets the radio to function normally again. The second thing people would generally try is to pull all the fuses related to the radio unit and leave them out for 30 min to an hour. You will need to check in your manual to see where the fuses are located. This last option people tries a little more involving. However these instructions have been verified to work by other Ford F-150 owner’s! Carefully take apart the trim and remove the console cover (two screws) to release the bottom of the trim piece. Once removed, disassemble the cage and remove the cd changer. Carefully separate the ribbon, cleaned the contacts with Q-tips dipped lighty in diluted Alcohol and reassemble. If that does not work you may want to consider getting a new stock radio or purchasing an aftermarket unit.

My dash board don’t work my front light work when I change my light into high beam and my back window won’t go down
ANSWER : As unfortunate as it is, your vehicle would be considered flood damaged. Diagnosing electrical problems in a flood damaged vehicle is nearly impossible. This would take many hours or even days to determine which wiring harnesses and circuits have been affected. Then nearly all of the wiring under the dash would likely require replacement as well as many sensors and switches. On a BMW vehicle, the amount of wires and switches are likely more than that of a lower end vehicle. Due to the inefficiency in cost, you would likely be able to purchase another BMW like yours for less than what it would cost to fix your car. Many insurance companies would consider this type of damage to total out the vehicle unfortuantely.

I have a factory Bose radio in my 2009 Mazda RX-8. The radio works but I cannot heary any sound. What could be the issue?
ANSWER : Hi There,
It sounds like you may have some faulty wiring running from the stereo to the speakers. This is somewhat common and can happen for many different reasons. Often times, when the wiring is faulty producing a bad connection, you may hear the sound coming from the speakers intermittently as you describe. My ignition chime, radio, clock, dome light quit working at same time. The next day my keyless remotes quit working as well. What
ANSWER : The devices that failed may be on a common circuit and thus a relay, fuse, fusible link, or ground might be the issue. The keyless remote, although wireless, activates a vehicle circuit and that circuit, too, may have experienced some sort of failure, like the others. Your issue is primarily an electrical fault and thus the recommended service to get it repaired is an electrical component/circuit diagnostic. If you request that diagnostic, a certified mechanic will get this resolved. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic as we are always here to help you.

Radio stopped working in my car
ANSWER : It is very hard to tell what could have made the radio quit working and then suddenly work again. However, something that would prevent your radio from working would include: damaged wiring or connectors, something came unplugged, blown fuse, faulty radio. If the radio quits working again, you could check all of these sources or have the radio inspected by a certified mechanic. This diagnosis would likely involve the use of a digital multimeter to determine where the power loss to the radio is located.

My back up camera, navigation and radio not working in my 2010 Toyota Camry after disconnecting the battery
ANSWER : First thing I notice is you say the 120 amp fuse was blown. That requires a substantial electrical short to blow. If you disconnect the positive side battery cable and touched any metal part of the car – even for an instant – you may have created that short. Whenever disconnecting the battery, always disconnect the negative cable first. With that large of an electrical short, it is possible that the internal power amplifier of the head unit may have shorted. With any large electrical short, the power spike can easily effect any electrical component in the vehicle. Some are more sensitive than others and will not withstand even a momentary short. It is also possible there is a software issue with the head unit. If you want to retain the original unit, then a trip to your local Toyota dealership for a diagnosis is the best thing to do. Another option is to try a reputable stereo repair and installation shop to explore options of repairing or replacing the existing unit.

Windshield wipers stopped working. They’ll suddenly stop working then suddenly start working again. Has been happening for a week.
ANSWER : The problem you are describing likely stems from an intermittent electrical fault in the wiper circuit. The windshield wiper system uses a small electric motor to move the wiper arms that you see on the windshield. That electric motor is controlled through a switch, relay, fuse, and wiring. One, or more, of those electrical components has failed although it is also possible that the mechanical arms are binding (seized, if the lubricant has dried out) thus causing the electric circuit to the motor to overload. Regardless of the underlying fault, if you request a non functioning wiper diagnostic/repair, the responding certified mechanic will get this taken care of for you. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic as we are always here to help you.
