Hi there:
Once the vehicle starts, the job of the battery is pretty much done; which means if you’re having issues with the vehicle shutting off, it’s most likely caused by ignition system components; such as a the distributor or the crankshaft position sensor perhaps. It’s possible that you have battery cables that are corroded or a battery that’s losing cold cranking amps. Since there are multiple items that could be causing your issues, it’s probably a good idea to have a professional mechanic complete an engine is hard to start inspection.

The most common reasons a Buick Rendezvous won`t start are a dead battery, an alternator problem, or failed starter.
Most common Buick Rendezvous problem:
engine overheating is prone to erratic shifting, engine overheating, a misfiring engine, and even a loss of power. If a loud squealing or rattling is coming from your engine—or if your Check Engine light is on—bring your car to a mechanic.
It was Buick`s first truck in its lineup since 1923, and the Rendezvous was billed as a combination of the best attributes of a minivan (large cargo capacity, seating for up to seven), a luxury automobile (ride, handling, smoothness) and a sport utility vehicle (truck styling and available all wheel drive).
The most common reasons a Buick Rendezvous engine makes a ticking noise are low oil level or pressure, an issue with the ignition system, or an exhaust leak. Search our network of RepairPal Certified shops near you to speak with a technician about your issue.
Check the battery if there is a slow crank and a clicking sound, and the car engine won`t start. However, if the check engine light illuminates, the issue could be the engine or fuel pump. If your vehicle doesn`t start, call AAA, roadside service, or another towing company to take your car to get it repaired.

The Battery is Dead
A dead battery is one of the most common causes of a no start. A low or dead battery doesn`t have enough power to turn the starter motor and will result in a rapid, repeated clicking noise when you turn the key. Leaving your lights on overnight can quickly kill your battery.

Runs fine for days then acts like running out of gas and then dies and try restart and runs then dies ,when I turn key on you hea
ANSWER : The fuel pump in the fuel tank is designed to have low pressure and high volume to feed the front fuel pump the right amount fuel. The front fuel pump supplies the engine with high pressure to the engine.
When you do not hear the pump run then the fuel pump is bad and should be replaced along with the relay. You should not have to replace the in tank pump if it is running. I’d suggest replacing the fuel filter as well.
I’d suggest getting this inspected by a qualified technician, such as one from YourMechanic, to diagnose your stalling issue and make the necessary repairs.

My truck died while driving. Now will start, but dies when I push brake. If I start in neutral, I can put in drive and go but dies – 2003 Ford F250
ANSWER : Hello – your symptoms suggest that once your cold start features are no longer needed – engine warming up – there is an air "leak" that ruins low speed running. Causes could be a leaking exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve, or leak in the air intake. A failing fuel pump relay (burned contacts) could cause similar behavior, contacts become hot, then won’t pass enough current to run the pump. Failing pump can also act this way – gets hot and fails. I recommend a starts, then dies inspection performed by a mobile, professional mechanic, such as one from YourMechanic, who will come to your location, diagnose this problem, and give you an accurate assessment of damage and cost estimate for repairs.
I changed the fuel pump and truck ran great for 3 days. Now after 3 days, the truck dies. It will start running for a few minutes, then dies like before.
ANSWER : Hi there, thanks for writing in. I’d be happy to help. It sounds like you should disconnect the connector to the fuel pump and inspect it for any signs of getting hot. The female connections may be too loose on the fuel pump and lose contact after running and getting hot. If there are indeed any signs of problems, then I’d suggest replacing connector and adding dielectric lube to pins before installation. This should solve the problem, but if you continue to experience issues, feel free to reach out to us for help again.
Car runs fine at first then will not accelerate past 20 mph on a 2003 Kia Rio
ANSWER : Hi there. The problem with the auto part store scanning is they do not complete the inspection to pinpoint the precise source of the issue. For example, if an error code might indicate an issue with the speed sensor, it’s not always the sensor that is the issue. In fact, in most cases, it’s the electrical harness or just the connection of the sensor to the harness that is the problem. Your best option to correctly have this diagnosed is to have a professional mobile mechanic complete a car is slow to accelerate inspection at your location.
Car started shaking. Cleaned carb and air filter. Now it starts, runs, dies, or starts and dies.
ANSWER : Hello. The stalling issues you are having may by caused by a variety of issues. Typically these symptoms can be blamed on fuel, spark, or air. Fuel and spark being the most common systems to fail. Starting with the air filter and cleaning the carburetor were good steps to start. You need to take a better look at the spark system. The spark wires can be tested to make sure the plugs are receiving the voltage that they need to be. You can also test the fuel system by spraying some starter fluid into the air intake. If this helps the engine start and run better than before, then you know you have a fuel delivery issue. This may include the fuel pump, fuel filter, injectors, or a clogged fuel line. The shaking is due to the improper combustion happening in the engine. This will be corrected when the engine is running properly. More testing is the only way to know definitively what the issue is.
Starts fine but immediately when I turn off the engine, it won’t start again until I count to 60 and then it starts and runs fine. Repeats.
ANSWER : Hi, thanks for writing in. The problem is most likely caused by the ignition control module. It would need to be verified by inspecting the spark when the problem happens. If you would like help, consider having an expert automotive technician from YourMechanic come to your home or office to inspect and diagnose this issue for you, and make or suggest any repairs as needed.
I changed fuel pump and truck ran great for 3 days. Now after 3 days truck dies. It will start runs few min then dies like before
ANSWER : Check the bottom of the fuel tank for sediment. Age and mileage could have accumulated a lot of it at the bottom of the tank. If you did not, check and change the fuel filter. Rule of thumb – replace the fuel filter any time you replace a fuel pump. Also, check the wiring for any chaffing on the fuel pump when you remove it. While your problem is kind of unique, I have seen many GM truck fuel tank baffle loosen over time, occasionally rubbing against the fuel pump can intermittently short it out and/or block the fuel pump pick up. To have this diagnosed, consider having a certified expert from YourMechanic inspect the stalling issue to have this corrected.
