Most likely your newer model car will have a USB port. You can buy a CD player that has a USB adapter and plug it in. You will want to consider a power source. Check for a plug-in cord that will work in your vehicle or purchase a player that comes with battery power.

If you have a car that is newer or is probably several years old, most likely it has an AUX connection. All you need is a 3.5 mm connector to connect your CD player to your car AUX input and you are all set.
For most of our car stereos, the AUX is activated by pushing the `Source` button until `AUX` appears on the display and activating it by pushing down the cursor key.

6cd/mp3 player shows cd error with no cd and slots 1 and 2 showing that cd’s are in and no cd’s installed
ANSWER : Hello. We will be happy to assist you. The issue you are having is common with Ford 6-CD radio units of that generation. Usually people attempt a reset by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery for an hour or so. Which will reset the vehicle’s electrical system. However that rarely gets the radio to function normally again. The second thing people would generally try is to pull all the fuses related to the radio unit and leave them out for 30 min to an hour. You will need to check in your manual to see where the fuses are located. This last option people tries a little more involving. However these instructions have been verified to work by other Ford F-150 owner’s! Carefully take apart the trim and remove the console cover (two screws) to release the bottom of the trim piece. Once removed, disassemble the cage and remove the cd changer. Carefully separate the ribbon, cleaned the contacts with Q-tips dipped lighty in diluted Alcohol and reassemble. If that does not work you may want to consider getting a new stock radio or purchasing an aftermarket unit.

My radio skips to a different station on it’s own and when I put cds in brand new they skip as well can you tell me what’s wrong a
ANSWER : The issue you are describing with the station skipping is due to an electrical or software fault. You should first check to see if a software patch is available from the VW dealer. The antenna boost and connection can be checked as well because if the signal is not fed to the radio properly, the radio will "scan" for a stronger signal, which could be a different station. If there is no software patch and/or there is no obvious external fault your only recourse is to change the radio. A dealer supplied, re-built radio is about $200. A brand new OEM radio costs roughly $450. Of course, add the labor cost to remove and install. If you desire that the diagnostic steps, and radio replacement if necessary, be carried out by a certified Mechanic, dispatched by YourMechanic right to your location, please request a radio/CD system diagnostic and the responding certified mechanic will get this taken care of for you. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic as we are always here to help you.
