Following a complete car tune up with full oil change, the oil light has come on during freeway driving

in prep for a trip from so cal to nor cal, got full tune up. 1/2 thru 6 hour freeway drive, pulled off for gas and oil light came on. notice "ticking" or "clicking" sound from engine. checked oil level, is fine. engine is not overheating (no action on temperature gauge. did the mechanics leave something loose or incomplete?
