You will have to open the hood and disconnect the battery terminals to reset the computer. Before hooking up the battery cables, the vehicle will need to be locked as it was before the alarm was tripped. Then the alarm could be disabled with the key to the car. You may have to program the key fob to the car. If you need further assistance with your alarm not shutting off, then seek out a professional, such as one from Your Mechanic, to help you.

You can manually disable the alarm by pulling out the plugs labeled “Horn 1” and “Horn 2.” Alternatively, you can disable the alarm system by unlocking either the driver`s side door or the trunk lid using your key.
To reset the vehicle security system and turn off the anti-theft light, you`ll just need to press the unlock button on your Nissan Intelligent Key, the key registered to your vehicle.
Car alarms rely on the electronic component of the vehicle, and disconnecting the battery should both silence the siren and reset your alarm. Open up the hood, locate the battery, and with a wrench, remove the negative terminal. Then reconnect it after a minute has passed.
Replace the battery and see if that resolves it. If the alarm to continues to be triggered, then you may have a wider electrical fault with the vehicle. Electrical issues such as a weak battery, a faulty alternator, or loose connections can cause the alarm to malfunction.
You can remove an alarm sensor from your door by deleting the zone from the system and taking the sensor and its magnet off the door. Wired door sensors will require you to disconnect the wires from the sensor and remove them from the wall. The complete process is actually very easy.
The settings in the vehicle information display can be reset back to the factory default. To reset the vehicle information display: Select “Factory Reset” using the scroll dial (1) and push it. Select “Yes” to return all settings back to default by pushing the scroll dial (1).
Placing the key inside the keyhole

You can bypass the immobilizer by placing the key in the keyhole hence deactivating the car`s immobilizer to remote start.

Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the on position, which activates your accessories but not the engine. Leave the key in position for about 10 – 15 minutes. Step 3: Check the anti-theft light again. If it`s no longer blinking, turn the key back to the Off position and allow it to set for a minute or two.
You can reset your alarm system by powering it down and then powering it back on. This is what is known as a power reset. To power down the system, the backup battery must be disconnected, and the transformer must be unplugged. Then reconnect the battery and transformer to power it back on.
A car alarm will go off if any activity occurs in or around the car. They can go off upon the touch of a stranger, the tripping of a sensor, the dying of the battery, or the opening of a door, among other things. Bumps or vibrations can trigger your car alarm.
There`s a toggle next to an option that reads Silence alarms when system sound is off. Make sure this is toggled off, and hopefully, your alarms will start ringing even if your phone is on mute or vibrate.
To stop your car alarm, simply put your key into the driver`s-side door lock and turn. If the alarm still doesn`t turn off, get inside and turn your key in the ignition. Starting up the car should silence the alarm.
Locate the fuse box containing the alarm fuse. It is usually located on the dashboard by the driver`s door, in front of your left knee. You may find the alarm fuse in this fuse box. If you do not find an alarm fuse inside of the car, look in the fuse box under the hood on the driver`s side.
Reprogram Nissan Key Fob: Nissan Intelligent Key

Insert the key into the ignition, but don`t start the car. Take the key out and repeat this step approximately six times. Keep in mind that it may take up to 10 times to be successful. The hazard lights will flash twice when the car accepts the Nissan Intelligent Key.

The easiest way to perform an ECU reset is by removing the fuse from the fuse box. It is a very simple process, and all you have to do is pull out the car key, remove the fuse from the fuse box, and then put it back after about 15 to 20 seconds. Doing this clears any long-term memory stored in the car`s ECU.
A common customer problem is lost keys, a failed immobilizer or defective ECU. Regardless of the vehicle, in order to solve the problem, the automotive locksmith must be able to retrieve key security information or reprogram the memory chip inside the module itself (immobilizer or ECU).
Replacing the battery is a non-issue. The immobilizer is “programmed” to the key/dongle. As long as the instrument cluster and/or the ECM/PCM and/or the BCM are intact, and you use the key/dongle that is programmed to the car, swapping a battery will not impact starting the car after a battery swap.
Starting Your Nissan

If your vehicle has a key fob port, insert the fob in the port and tap the brake pedal or clutch while pressing the START/STOP button. If your vehicle does not have a port, you`ll need to step on the brake or clutch while pressing the key fob up against the START/STOP button.

Most home alarm systems and security cameras include instruction manuals and guided instructions for resetting systems without a readily available passcode. Because alarm systems differ, each set of instructions based on the make and model of your device is likely to vary.
The design of a car`s door lock sensor means that rain can seep through the door lock actuator connector, which causes the car alarm to go off. Its internal wirings can also wear out and fail too. How can I fix it? Sealing the connector with protective grease and identifying the source of the leak fixes the issue.
The Ghost uses the buttons in your vehicle such as those on the steering wheel, door panels or centre console, to allow you to make a unique, changeable, disarm sequence (like a PIN code) that must first be entered before you can drive your car.
Many car alarms will shut down when the car doors are unlocked by the keys or appropriate key fob. If the door locks do not respond, the batteries may be dead in the key fob.
Depending on the car, you can disable the anti-theft system without a key by disconnecting the battery. Depending on the size of your battery clamps, you will typically need to open the car`s bonnet before using pliers or an adjustable wrench to unclip the negative cable from the battery`s negative post.
However, there are a few things you may do if you`re wondering how to stop the anti-theft mechanism without a key. One common method is to press and hold the “unlock” button on the car door for around 10 seconds; this should turn off the security system.

ANSWER : Hi there. From the description you provided, your vehicle has problems with the transmission again. You stated it will not shift into 3rd gear again, like before the transmission was rebuilt. If the transmission is again the problem, it should be covered under warranty. It could be a faulty shift solenoid. The shift indicator not reading properly could be a faulty transmission position sensor. If this is an overall lack of performance issue, according to your last statement, then possibly you have a restriction in the exhaust system. I recommend having your vehicle’s problems inspected and diagnosed by a certified technician from YourMechanic.

Car alarm is going off when using clicker to unlock the car
ANSWER : The content theft deterrent (CTD) alarm will sound when either the door is opened without using the key to unlock the driver’s door, or when the door is unlocked without using the unlock command from the keyless entry transmitter. My guess is that, for some reason, the control module is not recognizing your key fob. Instead of locking your doors with the remote, try locking them manually. This should solve your problem. You can also deactivate the CTD by doing the following:

Press either door lock switch.
Use the key to unlock the driver’s front door.
Press the unlock button of the transmitter.
Insert the key into the ignition and turn the vehicle on.

Of course, these are work arounds. For a permanent fix, I suggest you have a trained professional diagnose your initial starting issue and other causes to repair your vehicle.

My alarm is going off at random
ANSWER : A common failure point in this alarm system is the security hood switch, which is attached to the hood latch. The system control module monitors the position of the hood via this sensor. It also monitors the position of the doors and tailgate. If it determines that any of these panels are open, it will sound the alarm.

I suggest you have someone other than the dealer inspect your vehicle’s electrical system to determine if this is the problem. The team at YourMechanic is an excellent option since we make house calls.
